The LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors meet for the third time. Guess what? James Harden & Co. currently has a clean 3-0 record after defeating the short-handed Bay Area team on Friday. Despite the commanding record, The Beard seemed focused on something else, as he revealed his emotional interaction with Stephen Curry. It was about the iconic Christmas Day encounter between LeBron James and Chef Curry.
Following the win over the Dubs, a reporter caught hold of Harden and asked about his take on the superstar duo’s X-Mas encounter. It was indeed a thrilling contest that went out down the wire. Up until the final buzzer, the game was in anyone’s hand. If not for Austin Reaves’s tough lay-up with one second left on the clock, the game would have gone into overtime. Nevertheless, Steph and Bron had a lot of battles in the closing minutes of the game. Most importantly, the game peaked when Stephen Curry dropped a three-pointer over LeBron James‘ tightly knit defense.
While we already know it was an iconic Christmas Day game, there’s no harm in asking for a second opinion. Interestingly, we have a different take from James Harden. The veteran point guard dropped a crucial opinion from a sportsman’s perspective. He said, “Me and Steph was talking about that after the game as well. We love to hoop. It’s just, Father Time is undefeated… I know LeBron probably feel the same way.”

Harden further added, “We love the game of basketball… Now we just got little nagging injuries that when you’re younger you probably just don’t get… It’s weird, but it’s a part of life.” The guard’s statement did nothing but add more fuel to the retirement worry.
Stephen Curry hints about retirement, saying, “End is near”
Even though the superstars continue to rule the game with their balling action on the court, they are aging. At one point, they have to hang their boots. LeBron James, who is days away from embracing his 40th birthday, has been dropping triple-doubles for fun. On the other hand, KD and Steph do what they do best, scoring some buckets. However, ahead of the Christmas Day game, Curry dropped a worrisome statement.

When ESPN’s Malika Andrew asked Steph whether he thinks about retirement, he said, “More than I probably have before… It’s okay to accept and acknowledge that the end is near… But only because it allows you to enjoy what’s happening right now. But I think the more you talk about it and the more you acknowledge it, the more it levels up the sense of urgency in the moment, now.”
Amid this concerning statement, James Harden has a request for the fans. During his emotional expression about the X-Mas contest, he also added, ” I hope fans and people who enjoy and love the game of basketball can embrace and cherish these moments. Because once players like us are gone, we’ll never see them again.” So, the message is just plain and simple. Enjoy while it lasts. What do you make of it? Let us know in the comments.
