If there was any doubt about how valuable Luka Doncic is to the Mavs, then it has now been squashed for good! By helping Dallas record a 4-1 win against the Wolves in the WCFs, the Slovenian will participate in their first-ever NBA Finals. To make things even happier, the 25-year-old was named the MVP of the series. While everyone celebrated this feat, Anthony Edwards was gaining attention for a completely different reason.
In the post-game presser after Game 4, ‘Ant-Man’ was asked whether he was confident of forcing Game 6. He stated confidently that he would never undermine his or his team’s position by claiming that they would lose. He also expressed confidence by making a remark about the shoes worn by Micah Parsons. “Micah Parsons, you know, he was rocking the A1s, and I told him he wears a size 14, so I’ll bring back some nice shoes for Game 6, that’s what I told him”.
Well, seems like it’s time to go out and prepare to gift some nice branded shoes, Anthony Edwards!

Anthony Edwards was accused of having a “loser mentality”, despite honoring his side of the sneaker deal
It didn’t take long for fans to descend onto social media once Game 5 came to a close. One of the X users highlighted the Wolves star’s previous remarks and stated, “Someone let me know when Micah Parsons gets those shoes from Anthony Edwards”.

Fortunately, ‘Ant-Man’ remained true to his word. Micah Parsons highlighted that he had received his pair of Adidas AE 1s from Anthony Edwards before the game!
Several other individuals proceeded to follow the same thought process as the above comment. One of them joked about the fact that Anthony Edwards probably knew, deep down, that he wasn’t going to win Game 5. This is why, he chose to send the shoes beforehand.

The Minnesota Timberwolves had won the previous matchup by a close margin of 5 points. However, even with this win, the Mavericks still led them 3-1. Therefore, one can speculate that Anthony Edwards may have chosen to cover his bases just in case.
Prior to the Mavericks securing their fourth win against Anthony Edwards and co, a fan on social media had complimented the player over his statement. He expressed his liking for Edwards’ confidence. At the same time, he also highlighted how several people claim that today’s NBA has become too ‘soft’, but the same people allegedly complain when players like Edwards make remarks like this.
Just that simple. Gotta be confident. People complain that the league is too soft but hate when players speak up.

Just like many NBA players out there, Anthony Edwards has been subjected to some alleged, unwanted criticism from fans. It occurred a couple of weeks ago when he had lost Game 3 against Denver. The 22-year-old didn’t display his best and took responsibility by stating, “I came out with no energy. I came out flat.” However, no one chose to compliment the player for owning up. Instead, they criticized the player by calling him a ‘crybaby’, with one individual making use of an AI-generated video to mock him.
Another individual took to the comments section to take a nasty shot at the young player through Micah Parsons. He stated that the NFL star needs to spend less time with athletes who possess a ‘loser mentality’.
@MicahhParsons11 you need to stop hanging out with players that have loser mentality’s

While this was certainly a jab at Anthony Edwards, it may have also been a reference to Parsons and his NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys. Back in January, the franchise was subjected to criticism online after losing the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers. The issue had become so severe that Terrence Parsons Jr., the brother of Micah, had to come out to defend the athlete.
Overall, the reactions on social media were unanimous in stating that Anthony Edwards had to honor his bet made to Micah Parsons. After all, when it comes to high-end sneakers, backing out should never be an option!
