The stars were out in New York. A game at MSG is always a spectacle, not only on the court but off it as well. That’s because the arena attracts some of the most popular celebrities in the world. And that’s exactly what happened tonight during the Knicks vs. Nets encounter. However, amid the starstruck moment, fans were left a bit confused when they mistook Marcus Rashford for rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie.
Yes, the Manchester United forward was in attendance to witness the NBA Cup group-stage matchup live. But because he was wearing a beanie with black shades and his face was not completely visible, many fans online thought he was the $5 million American rapper. And comments like “Thought Rashford was A Boogie for a second” and “This not A Boogie?” began flooding in.
Well, the resemblance was in fact uncanny and the soccer star looked very similar to A Boogie with his tattoos, shiny chain, and a blingy watch. Moreover, everyone is used to seeing Rashford on the soccer pitch draped in red and white. So, it is understandable why the fans did not recognize him at first glance. Sure enough, he was not the only celeb at the game tonight.

Obviously, the man who attracted the most eyeballs was NFL legend Tom Brady, who was sitting in the front row and even autographed a ball that he later launched into the crowd. And there was also New York’s own Ben Stiller. Even MLB stars Mark Vientos and Jazz Chisholm Jr. showed up at the arena. And record producer Questlove was also part of the celebrity parade.
Sure enough, they did not leave disappointed as the Knicks won the game by two points, led by Jalen Brunson’s epic 37-point performance. But the fans just could not get over how different Rashford looked.

Well, it’s definitely strange seeing Rashford at an NBA game because he spends most of his time wreaking havoc in the EPL. But some fans were hyped to see him at MSG, “Rashy at the garden that’s [fire emoji]” And one even pointed out, “Not sure why he has sunglasses on, barely anyone in New York would recognize him.” Of course, soccer is not as popular in America as in other parts of the world.
