During one of the plays, he brought out a ridiculous jam. In a loose ball situation, he gathered the ball some feet away in the paint. But instead of going closer, he jumped from that spot and hammered an unbelievable dunk.

This is reminiscent of some of the games by Wilt Chamberlain, who was known for his dipper shot and dipper dunk. Like The Stilt, Wemby uses his huge size and wingspan to cover an area that is much larger than most of the centers. This jam sums up his reach and incredibly quick step during his jump to complete the dunk. He doesn’t need to jump that high to access the rim, but getting that quickly off the ground is indeed a rarity for a player his size.

This dunk led LeBron James’ last season’s teammate Thomas Bryant in disbelief. He was the recipient of the dunk and immediately showed how much unbelievable that jam was for him. In a close-up video shot by someone from the sideline, his wide-open eyes and inquiring face said it all.
