Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green’s long-running podcast recently invited a highly awaited guest on the show. He dropped a surprise as his teammate and 5x NBA All-Star Klay Thompson sat opposite Green for a lively discussion on various topics. During the same, Green highlighted how Thompson comes from a family of renowned athletes, with his father also having been a known NBA player during his prime. ‘Game 6 Klay’, in return, stated that if he and his father were grouped (in their primes), they had the potential to compete against some of the other basketball family duos of the modern generation.
“We got to play the Holiday Brothers…with my dad on the block, I think we could beat them up a little bit,” said Thompson. “The Lopez twins would be tough too, the Griffin brothers, a lot of great NBA players”. As the 34-year-old jotted down his list, Green highlighted that one prominent brother duo was left out: Stephen Curry and Seth Curry. However, from Thompson’s hilarious reply, the same would have been done intentionally.
“Curry, they’re too little,” said Thompson jokingly, as Green let out a huge laugh. “Too little”.

Klay Thompson proceeded to state that “versatility” and “family pride” are the reasons why he would continue putting his family on top of everyone else. He is not wrong in doing so, since the athletes amongst the circle of his loved ones have left their own memorable mark on basketball, separate from the one left by him.
Klay’s father, former Lakers player Mychal Thompson, helped his team secure two championship titles alongside the legends Magic Johnson and James Worthy. His brother, Mychel, played one season with the Cleveland Cavaliers before heading to the D-League, where he won a championship ring back in 2015.
While it’s one thing to have pride in your own family’s achievements, it’s another to diminish the contributions of the Curry Brothers and their father as a wild dig. We know that Thompson said it jokingly, but it’s important to note that the Curry trio is not, in any way, “too little”.
Seth once opened up about learning from his brother Stephen Curry

Former Charlotte Hornets player Dell Curry was a prominent part of the NBA fraternity from the mid-80s to the late 90s. Once he took his exit as a player, it became the responsibility of his two sons, Stephen and Seth, to carry the name. While Seth may not have any NBA titles to his name, he has made significant strides as an offensive player and as a prominent shooter. In his first 10 seasons, the younger brother became known for never shooting below 40% from the 3-point line during a regular season. From three seasons between 2019 and 2022, he scored an average of 13.3 points per game. While being occasionally compared to Steph has had its issues, it has also brought along some benefits.
During an appearance on Draymond Green’s podcast in April 2023, Seth discussed having the Warriors star as his elder brother. He highlighted his own growth as a player from “Learning from Steph, being able to ask him questions, following his journey”. He added he has a guy who has “been through a lot of the grinds” and he can benefit a lot from watching the successes and failures he endures each season.
