It has been a chaotic week for Andrew Nembhard. During Monday’s clash against the Timberwolves, he got tossed from the game after getting into a heated altercation with Rudy Gobert. Looks like Nembhard didn’t learn his lesson from that ejection as he suffered the same fate tonight against the Nets. Turns out, this time it was his attitude toward the official Tony Brothers that led to his early exit.

Well, Nembhard’s first technical foul came midway through the fourth quarter. After the Pacers scored an easy layup, Nets’ Trendon Watford charged at Nembhard away from the ball and hit him with a hard shove. Surprisingly, the Pacers star made a smart move and walked away instead of escalating the situation. However, his teammate, Myles Turner, came to his aid, shoving Watford in retaliation.

Sure enough, this led to a heated physical altercation between both players. Their teammates and staff immediately rushed in to separate them. But the damage was done. Watford was directly ejected from the game as he was penalized with two technical fouls. Meanwhile, both Nembhard and Turner received single techs for their involvement. For a moment, it looked like the end of the situation.

However, the incident came back to haunt Nembhard later in the game. During the opening seconds of overtime, he got called for a foul on D’Angelo Russell. Nembhard was not pleased with the call and began pleading his case to Brothers. Everything seemed routine until Nembhard said something to Brothers, leaving him with a surprised look on his face. Seconds later, the Pacers guard received his second tech and was booted from the game.

As per veteran insider Alex Golden, Nembhard had some extra words for Brothers, which riled up the ref and he even warned the Pacers star, “Don’t ever talk to me like that.”

However, Nembhard continued chirping at the official, which led to Brothers T-ing him up for the second time. As per the report, head coach Rick Carlisle even told Andrew to let it go before he got booted.

Fortunately for the Pacers, the point guard’s early exit did not disrupt their momentum.

Pacers survive despite Andrew Nembhard’s ejection for the second time this week

When Nembhard got ejected, the score was tied, and it felt like anybody’s game. However, the Pacers picked up pace once the point guard left, and they ended up outscoring the Nets 14-8 in OT. As a result, they won the game by six points and extended their winning streak to three games.

Ironically, something similar happened during Monday’s Wolves clash. Even in that game, Nembhard got into an altercation after he bumped into Mike Conley and then was hit hard by Gobert while driving to the basket. In retaliation, he threw the ball at ‘The Stifle Tower’ and got ejected for his actions.

However, the Pacers did not lose their cool and ended up forcing overtime. Then, Obi Toppin hit an insane fading three from the corner to seal the game for his team in OT. Once again, the Indiana team survived despite Nembhard’s questionable decisions. But luck might not be in their favor every time. With the playoffs looming closer and each game’s outcome carrying major consequences, Nembhard needs to figure out a way to keep his emotions in check and not put his team in tough situations like tonight. Do you think he can do it?
