It is not unknown to NBA fans, that even after having statistically impressive numbers while defending, James Harden is not someone whom you can put your money on. Not while defending. This is a great example of how the stats can chiefly be misleading at times.
Former Brooklyn Nets player Kenyon Martin spoke about the Clippers losing streak in an interview that also features Gilbert Arenas. The video was uploaded by the Gil’s Arena on YouTube. Martin, who is an All-Star himself calls James Harden an “awful” defender.
“I just didn’t see how it could work. You got four dominant offensive personalities, two good defenders, a little older but still can hold their own defensively. One historically awful defender,” said Martin. No brownie points for guessing, the ‘awful’ defender part was for Harden.
He further added, “Come on man, I ain’t gonna sugar coat, let’s call it what it is man. Like we all watch basketball though.”?Others present during the interview could not stop themselves from laughing after this. According to Martin’s views, the trade was not supposed to work in the first place.

Will the Clippers Turn Their Season Around?
The Clippers are genuine title contenders and the addition of James Harden makes their roster even stronger. They possess all the firepower in their line-up. The duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are a devastating offensive pairing with great defensive capabilities. Russell Westbrook is present there too to strengthen their point guard position. The only thing that can bother this team is their age. All four superstars are in their thirties and are injured prone. In this highly competitive league, fitness is one crucial factor and we have seen previously how this takes a toll on a team’s overall performance.
They are facing the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets tomorrow. The Nuggets are in tremendous form and are eyeing to defend their title. Can the Clippers get back to winning ways from here? How far do you think they will reach in this season? Most importantly, can James Harden silence his critics with his performance?
