Draymond Green had to go through a stark transformation this season. Early in the year, he struck Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face. It wasn’t the first of such incidents involving the Warriors forward. The NBA had to take action, and they suspended the four-time champion indefinitely. Many pundits and experts spoke of the alarming ramifications of Green’s then pattern of behavior. However, a former teammate of his accused him of something peculiar.

Sitting in front of Skip Bayless, Nick Young, a former Lakers shooting guard told the veteran analyst that Green was targeting only foreigners. Receipts weirdly show some relevance to his claims. But during his appearance on VladTV recently, Young spoke the truth. He only says so to irk the former Defensive Player of the Year.

“I just speak on how he likes to beat up foreign players. You know, I like to talk trash to him about that. Tell him he don’t mess with no Americans. But we talk about that personally. Like just taxing him ‘Why you do that to him? Why didn’t you do that to f*****g AD or something,”. he said during the interview.

Additionally, he also recalled a time Draymod Green nearly punched him after a practice scrimmage got heated. It reminded him of the incident with Jordan Poole a few seasons ago. As a close friend of Green, Young admitted the defensive stalwart had to be pushed to the brink otherwise he would never hit a teammate. Addressing him as a ‘leader’, he knows Green as the voice of the locker room who motivates his troops.

Young spent his penultimate season with the Golden State Warriors in 2017. Having just traded for Kevin Durant, the Warriors had only just begun their dynasty ascend. Young won his only title with the Bay Area franchise. Additionally, he also made a friend like Green.

The incident between Green and Poole shook the Warriors two seasons ago. The morale was tense at all times. Despite their differences, Poole and Green finished the season together, yet the former’s exit was imminent. Having established himself as a prolific bench scorer, Poole had attracted interest from several teams.

Eventually, he chose Washington Wizards with an opportunity to lead an offense. Unfortunately, he never could assume the helm in his debut season with the Wizards. Poole only averaged 17.4 points in 30 minutes. Young feels the incident with Green could be attributed to his disturbed rhythm.

“I don’t know if it messed up Poole or not but he’s just not the same. People expected big things from him with the Wizards and he just went out there and didn’t look the same”, he told VladTV.
