It’s always a special occasion when the New York Knicks take the court at Madison Square Garden—after all, a game in the heart of NYC almost guarantees a celebrity sighting.

This time, fans and players alike got treated to an A-list courtside crew, with Jennifer Hudson, Common, and Alexandra Daddario soaking in the action. But while their presence lit up the arena, OG Anunoby stole the spotlight differently—on the court.

The 27-year-old Knicks forward was on fire against the Golden State Warriors, dropping 29 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists despite the team’s loss. He shot 11-19 (57.9%) from the field, 4-9 (44.4%) from three, and 3-5 (60.0%) from the line—his best scoring night since late January against the Kings.

And of course, the NBA world had to ask—was it pure skill, or did the presence of the ‘Baywatch’ actress give him that extra boost?

NBA Community teases OG Anunoby’s performance with an Alexandra Daddario link “NOT a coincidence.”

One social media user wrote, “peak OG is NOT a coincidence”.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Alexandra Daddario's courtside presence spark OG Anunoby's best performance of the season?

Have an interesting take?

No reports indicate that the New York Knicks star has previously been associated with Alexandra Daddario. He did not publicly even say anything about having a ‘crush’ on her. Then again, it’s Alexandra Daddario. Who hasn’t had a crush on her? Therefore, if Anunoby was trying to show off to her with his basketball skills, it is completely understandable.

Another social media user wrote, “Ahh it all makes sense now,” after highlighting a screenshot of OG Anunoby’s stats.

OG Anunoby might perform better in front of celebrities. If he does, however, its only in front of a limited circle of stars. After all, the player only made 14 points during a Knicks-Bulls game in November attended by none other than Anne Hathaway! Then again, the player and the actress linked their names after Anunoby almost collided with her during the game.

Another social media user teased the Knicks player by writing, “Very much explains why og is cooking”.

We don’t know what it is, but the 38-year-old may have an unknown superpower of motivating players without even knowing. Dadarrio attended a New York Yankees vs Texas Rangers game back in August 2024. It was the same game in which Juan Sato hit 2 home runs. In fact, Daddario was even able to capture the player approaching home plate in the background of a photo for which she posed. Then again, maybe it is all just a coincidence.

One individual wrote “OG don’t miss….”, accompanied with laughing emojis. Though it may not be his intention, the Knicks power forward is creating an unusual reputation for himself. At the same time, he did almost fall on Anne Hathaway and delivered one of his best season performances with Alexandra Daddario attending the game. Therefore, he isn’t doing himself any favors by adding fuel to the fire.

Feel that one has had enough of the OG Anunoby-Alexandra Daddario comments to get the point? Well, it still didn’t stop people from commenting. One social media user continued adding to the comments by writing “OG time” on the post that highlighted the actress. Well, OG Time did come, but the Golden State Warriors still took home the win by a 114-102 score. Even though Stephen Curry barely missed accumulating the same points as OG Anunoby, he received major assistance on the offensive front from Jimmy Butler and Brandin Podziemski. Anunoby also received assistance from Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges, but the efforts of the Knicks squads were not enough in the end.

Overall, the majority of reactions were united in making fun of OG Anunoby by linking her to the Hollywood star. Therefore, the last thing the player would want to do now is to perform exceptionally again the next time another high-profile celebrity attends the game at Madison Square Garden.
