Grimes had no idea about the sudden change of plans. He was with the team, joking around during the shootaround at the Wells Fargo Center, and within an hour, it was all over for him. In his 47 appearances, Grimes added 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He had just joined the franchise, and within a few months, the Mavericks decided to part ways with him.
