Did Jimmy Butler dig his own grave? Looking at the latest updates, the currently suspended Miami Heat forward might find it difficult to trade out. Amid this situation, veteran NBA analyst Tim Bontemps further developed the story, stating the new roadblocks on the star baller’s way for the trade way. More importantly, he also criticized Butler for not taking Paul George‘s route before finding himself in a deadlock situation.

PG, one year younger than Butler, managed to crack a max $212 million 4-year contract despite underwhelming performance in the current season. Meanwhile, Jimmy Buckets, who has a pretty impressive playoff record in the last few seasons, has found himself in a difficult bind, along with a legal issue with the Heat management.

Exploring Jimmy Butler‘s situation, Tim Bontemps dropped an intriguing analogy in his latest feature on ESPN’s Hoop Collective. He said, “I don’t think the way he’s (Butler) handled this has helped his chances of being traded I would refer back to what Paul George did last year which is play 74 games and play at an all-NBA caliber level and that got him a 4year $212 million Max contract.”

Following that, he listed the various roadblocks restricting Butler’s trade.

“He’s not playing out of his mind on the court. He’s causing problems for the Heat. They’re suspending him… The bottom line is he’s now in a fight with Pat Riley and Eric Spoelstra and he’s gonna have to go to court to try to get his money back,” added Bontemps. Having Butler in Miami is something great for the franchise. But the franchise continues to irk star players, putting the team above any player who played for them.

Moreover, he also ruled out the star’s probability of landing in Phoenix Suns, stating the reasons above. In the meantime, Bradley Beal’s latest statement surfaced as a major roadblock.

Unfazed by the magnanimity of the question, Beal, who holds the prestigious ‘No-trade clause’, said, “If so, I need to be addressed because I hold the cards. Until I’m addressed and somebody says something different, then I’ll be a Sun.” It did nothing but permanently close the door for Jimmy Butler.

Now, Butler has to find himself a new franchise for the trade contract. Should Jimmy Butler opted for Paul George’s route to save himself from the entanglement? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
