Expressing his gratitude, Karl-Anthony Towns said: “Nine years ago, I arrived in Minnesota as a young man with a dream. Little did I know that this place would become my home, and its people would become my family. Your love, support, and unwavering loyalty have fueled my journey and inspired me to be the best player I could be…You’ll always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything. KAT.”

The New York Knicks reportedly sent two second-round picks to the Charlotte Hornets to facilitate the smooth trade of 4x NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns. Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the three teams are working closely to finalize the deal before the start of the season, which was expanded Monday night to include additional compensation. The Hornets are supposed to receive another set of second-round picks from the Timberwolves. They are also to receive, DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown, and Duane Washington Jr. from the Knicks.

On Friday it was announced that the Timberwolves agreed to trade Karl-Anthony Towns to the Knicks. In return, they will receive Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop, and a first-round pick. The Knicks will also gain the draft rights to 2023 second-round pick James Nnaji from the Hornets. Well, it looks like the trade might have come into the picture because of KAT! Acquiring him would give a massive boost to the Knicks’ championship dreams. BetMGM Sportsbook suggests that Jalen Brunson & Co.’s possibility to win the 2024/25 season may have spiked from plus-900 to plus-700. This means, with the addition of Towns, the Knickerbockers might be able to clinch the Larry O’Brien for the first time in five decades!
