The Washington Wizards got, what can only be described as, a blockbuster deal with Jordan Poole. The Wizards traded Chris Paul for Poole. It came as quite a shock for everyone. Nobody expected the Warriors to trade the rising star for the veteran guard.

The Wizards are giddy with excitement over their newest additions. Poole is an extremely talented scorer around the rim. With Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins thrown into the mix, the Wizards have an interesting roster this season.

Poole’s championship experience is going to come in handy for the team. The Wizards’ last championship win was in 1978. It won’t be selfish of Will Dawkins to have an eye on the championship this time.

Jordan Poole’s arrival lights Will Dawkin’s hopes for a championship

86 days after acquiring Jordan Poole, the Washington Wizards’s General Manager has his eyes set on the prize. With Kyle Kuzma as his power forward and Poole as the point guard, Dawkins is confident about the situation as a whole.

Speaking on Poole and Kuzma’s leadership in a Twitter re-post by LeBron James’s ex-teammate, Kuzma, Dawkins’ appreciation of the duo is clear.

The thing that’s impressed me so far the most is their willingness to bring the group together.

What Jordan Poole brings to the table for the Wizards

” I do expect him to embrace his overall situation in Washington Poole has his ring, and, though he’s already had a massive payday, I think he’ll embrace his chance as “the guy” in Washington. I expect Poole to be a focal point of the offense, and perhaps even the focal point of the offense.

That said, the trade benefits JP in a number of ways. Firstly, his run for All-Star will come to fruition if he increases his scoring to 25 per game or more. Secondly, the Wizards are focusing on rebuilding their brand and will rely on Poole for his expertise. Finally, the Draymond Green situation had put a damper on the Poole-Warriors relationship. And it showed. Now that there is no more Green, JP can focus again on his game.
