Chris Paul has had many battles with the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors throughout his career. He almost ended the reign of the Warriors in 2018 when he was still a part of the Houston Rockets. With a 3-2 series lead over Stephen Curry and Co. in the 2018 Western Conference Finals, CP3 unfortunately got injured in Game 6 and could not finish the job. With a lot of animosity between CP3 and Golden State, it came as a shock when Paul was traded to the Warriors this off-season.

Deciding to leave their past behind, Draymond Green revealed his primary goal for this upcoming season was to get Chris Paul his first ring. However, the veteran Warriors Forward suffered a major setback ahead of the preseason that could jeopardize his 18-day-old promise to CP3.

NBA reporter Jason Dumas revealed Draymond Green sprained his left ankle ahead of the NBA preseason. The injury is not major as it is not a high ankle sprain, but the 33-year-old could miss a few games at the beginning of the season, depending on the severity of the injury. Draymond?s recovery is expected to take somewhere between three to six weeks. This is a major setback for the Warriors Forward, considering he was ready to share the floor with Point God Chris Paul and pursue his 5th Championship. Draymond re-signed with the Warriors on a 4-year $100 million contract, staying with the Splash Brothers in hopes of continuing the reign of the Warriors dynasty.

Draymond revealed his primary goal for the season in a recent interview, ?My goal this year is to help Chris Paul get his first Championship.? The two legends have had a lot of Bad Blood as opponents throughout their careers. But now that they are on the same team, Draymond wants to help CP get a taste of winning a Championship.

Chris Paul wants to end his Championship Curse

Chris Paul is regarded as one of the Greatest Point Guards in NBA history. His basketball IQ is second to none, and he has significantly impacted each team he has been a part of. Unfortunately, he has never been able to win an NBA Championship in his 18-year career. The closest CP3 came to lifting the Larry O?Brien trophy was in 2021 when he led the Phoenix Suns to the NBA finals. But Chris Paul could not get past 2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

This might be Chris Paul?s best chance at winning a Championship. He has joined a team that knows how to win on the biggest stage, and he will share the court with multiple 4-time Champions, including Draymond Green, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson. Paul is 38 years old, and his window of winning a ring is closing with each passing day. If he is unable to win a championship with the Warriors, Chris Paul might join the list of Great Players to never win a ring in their career. Hopefully, Draymond Green can recover from his injury soon and help CP win his 1st ring.
