Stephen Curry may be the best shooter in the NBA history, but not everyone considers him the smartest player around. Among those who shrug the chef’s court mavericks is his ex-Warriors teammate who triumphed him eight years ago for Finals MVP.

Andre Iguodala was a pivotal part of the Golden State Warriors roster during their reign. Given that the Warriors are still one of the best teams in the league, Iggy gave credit to someone else for the smartest player. And it isn?t Klay Thompson or Draymond Green either.
Andre Iguodala appeared on JJ Redick?s Old Man and the Three Podcast. That is where Redick asked him who was the smartest player he ever played with over the course of his 19-year-long NBA career.
Without thinking about it, Iguodala said, ?Andre Miller. Andre Miller taught me so much. Like, he was soft-spoken, he didn?t say much. So, when he spoke, it was funny because he had a different type of voice to be from Watts.?

Iguodala went on to add, ?On the court, he would always ask me, what you see? And I?m like year three-four. So, I see things but not on his level or not like the level I see things now. Now I can be like, ?Oh, do this, do that?. Now, I can pick the game apart, it?s easy.?
What made Andre Miller so special?
Andre Miller was a talented point guard during his era. Not the All-Star level guard that fans have been privy to. But a reliable point guard who had all the tools necessary to run the team?s offense flawlessly. And Andre Iguodala credits him for being the smartest player as Miller saw things other people missed. He also compelled Iguodala to expand his mindset of how he viewed the game. During the interview, Iggy also said, ?Back then, I?m still learning and I can?t answer this question. I don?t know, what do you see? But the more he asked me, the more I would go back and watch the film. Like, I?m gonna have an answer for him every time he asks me what I see.?
