The latest NBA season has seen a fresh wave of controversies arise, and it can only be marked down to the referees. From multiple missed calls to erratic technical fouls and downright egregious ejections, the refereeing this season has been nothing short of horrific. While NBA players get fined for speaking out about it on social media, they are free to express their disappointment at other sporting decisions.
One such case is a call that happened in tonight’s NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. A missed call on star QB Patrick Mahomes left many fans fuming, and Knick guard Josh Hart was one of them.

The Kansas City Chiefs lost their most recent game to the Green Bay Packers. With a final score of 27-19, many fans, including Knicks guard Josh Hart felt that the officiating was not up to the mark. The official ended up missing a DPI (Defensive Pass Interference), which could’ve changed the outlook of the game.
Unfortunately, the official did not call it and the game went on, with the Packers emerging victors.
The New York Knicks guard went on to X to share his frustration. He tweeted, “Ref should be suspended for a couple of weeks.”

Given that a DPI awards the team in possession with a first down, the missed call surely did affect the Chiefs. As seen in the image above, the defender has one of his hands over Patrick Mahomes’ shoulder.
Not only did the defender use that to push Mahomes down, but he also used it as a boost to interfere with the incoming pass. Had the referee called that foul, the outcome of the game could’ve been very different.
Unfortunately, this loss will be a tough pill for Chiefs fans to swallow.

Josh Hart’s valid frustration
Josh Hart has been an avid NFL fan for quite some time. Like many NBA players, Hart tends to enjoy other sports as well, with the NFL being his poison. And given the number of times we have seen Patrick Mahomes in Madison Square Garden, Hart’s anger surely is justified.
Not to mention the actual missed call by the official, which is as gut-wrenching as it gets. Hopefully, this won’t affect Hart’s production on the floor with his team, especially how the Knicks are playing right now.

New York is on a three-game winning streak with a 12-7 record. The team is currently in the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference and is looking to take down the Bucks in their next matchup. Let’s hope Hart uses his frustration to fuel the fire in the team’s next game.
