Draymond Green is back at it! Tonight’s on-court drama took the Dubnation straight back to last season. We all are aware of the reputation that the former DPOY has made for himself. An aggressor on the court who often gets into trouble with his questionable violent acts. Notably, the 35-year-old went through an indefinite suspension clubbed with therapy last year. He had certainly improved since then, but tonight, we saw some of his past self coming out!
Taking on the Hornets in a road game, the Warriors needed the W to get to the 6th seed. They did play like that, securing the lead right from the first quarter. However, at one point in the third quarter, the team almost threw everything away, conceding 7 points in just one possession. Guess who was behind this mess? DrayMagic himself.
Around the 3-minute mark in the third quarter, LaMelo Ball sank a three-pointer, and Draymond Green, who was standing under the rim to collect the board, attempted to block the Hornets’ Tidjane Salaun, extending his hand. The forward walked straight into Green’s hand and took the hit. The referee immediately blew the whistle and that set off Draymond.

The Dubs star began arguing. He received not only a flagrant foul (type 1) but also a technical foul. Moreover, the Charlotte side received possession of the ball, with which LaMelo Ball sank another three. So, with a missed technical free throw attempt, the Hornets made 7 points with just one possession. Importantly, the lead dropped from 11 points to just 4. Despite eventually sealing a 119-104 win, Dubnation was furious, and they took their anger out on the internet.
Warriors fans rip apart Draymond Green after the flagrant foul
Sometimes, when a player loses his cool, there are a lot of chances for him to get carried away. And in the NBA world, everything comes with a price. Either you will get ejected, or the opponents will get a free throw. On tonight’s occasion, the Hornets were offered two free throws. If Draymond Green hadn’t argued after the whistle, it would have ended with just one FT. In response to the situation, a fan wrote, “Draymond Green just cost the Warriors 7 points in 1 possession, this guy is not a real man.”
It all leads down to the previous season where Green’s spontaneity left the team with a lot of blows. Despite two suspensions at the start of the season, the power forward once again engaged in a violent act, swinging his arm against Jusuf Nurkic. The league immediately slapped him with an indefinite suspension, leaving the team to bleed amid a concerning season. A fan after tonight’s incident wrote, “They should have traded him as he’s a calamity to this team.”

What’s your perspective on:
Is Draymond Green's aggression a liability or an asset for the Warriors' playoff hopes?
Have an interesting take?
The majority of fans felt the same during the Nurkic incident. At the same time, one needs to look at the difference that Green’s absence made. Last season, the Warriors carried a 13-14 record in his absence and a 33-22 record in his presence. So, however problematic he was, the man made a difference on the team. Another frustrated fan wrote, “Bro gets away with B’s every game, how doesn’t he get ejected for this smh.“
To be honest, this fan seemed to have taken it a bit far. There are times when Green had a really bad game, making no difference on the offensive end, even with his playmaking ability. But he has always been the leader on the defensive end. Another fan, speaking for the majority of the furious Dubs fans, wrote, “I’m getting tired of this mfer…” Of course, the 35-year-old managed to dismantle the team’s hope several times with his antics.
After the disappointing exit from the 2023-24 season in the play-in tournament, he said, “We probably lost 10 games that we easily should’ve won, and that is a direct impact and a direct inflection of me missing games… I f-cked this season off, and I have to be better.“ Moreover, he promised that he wouldn’t get more than 10 techs this season, but he already has 12 now. So, I’m not sure how much Green followed his own words.

There is always an odd one out. A lonely fan stood up for Green and wrote, “Am I missing something…? How is that a flagrant foul on Draymond Green“. This fan may have a point, as the star didn’t make any excessive movements to harm the Hornets player. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
