“This season is over” was amongst the most repeated fan remarks after news broke that Stephen Curry and Draymond Green had been sidelined. Amidst the Warriors’ 5-game losing streak, the upcoming matchup against the Rockets would have provided the perfect opportunity to break that poor run. After all, Steph and Co. do hold a 10-0 record against the Houston side. However, the injury report declared the Splash Bro ‘out’ due to a bilateral knee ailment. The same happened to Green because of a calf injury. Therefore, the odds were reduced, suggesting that GSW wouldn’t waltz through the next game. Fortunately, some hope appears to be on the horizon.
We can say for sure that Stephen Curry and Draymond Green won’t be present to take on the Rockets. However, as per NBA reporter Anthony Slater, “Steve Kerr said the plan is for Steph Curry to play tomorrow vs Timberwolves and reiterated it is “possible” Draymond Green also plays.” This report came after Slater also revealed that the MRI done on the power forward came out clean.
To add to the good news, Andrew Wiggins is reportedly set to appear against the Rockets today! Earlier listed as questionable because of a right ankle impingement, his health seems to be good enough now. In light of these updates, fans couldn’t stay silent for long.

The Bay Area side hasn’t been too successful in living up to its fans’ expectations over the last couple of games. Despite a good start to the season, the recent streak of losses resulted in the record going down to 12-8. As a result, the Warriors now occupy the 6th seed in the West. It may have given fans déjà vu, given how the string of losses last season had them struggling to reach the postseason door.
Now, with the status of three key players looking better, there is still some hope. As President Snow from ‘The Hunger Games’ would say, however, “A little hope is effective. A lot of hope is dangerous.” So, one should simply “Contain it”. Ignoring President Snow, however, others chose to relish the good news. As a result, another individual wrote “We know we winning today”.
Andrew Wiggins’ availability certainly helps the win odds for the Golden State Warriors. After all, the 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists that he has averaged this season helped to bolster his identity as a potential ‘game-changer’. However, there is still the issue about how long he can play. As Steve Kerr revealed, “It’s enough of an issue that it’s bothering him.”
After all, a right ankle impingement is not easy to shake off. Fortunately, fans can choose to ignore that for a moment and simply focus on the upcoming game. One individual wrote, “W then”. Once again, the losing streak may have exhausted the fans. Therefore, even a back-to-back win would be enough to reignite their belief that nobody should count the Warriors out so easily.
Another social media user wanted Andrew Wiggins’ availability to be made worthwhile. This may have compelled him to write, “I need him to score 40+ tonight to make up for the 2 games he sold”.
If this is a reference to the recent 2 games, then Wiggs did nothing more than maintain his average. But there were several missed opportunities. After all, he went 3-7 with his field goals during the recent game against the Denver Nuggets.

Before that, he made 7-17 field goals against the Phoenix Suns. It will be hard for Wiggins to pull off 40 points or more, since the last time he did that was back in March 2021. However, to cover for Curry and Green, the player will still need to bring in his A-Game.
One fan attempted to send out a caution to anyone from the Warriors squad who reads his message. He wrote, “Warriors fans, I suggest to not ride the game to game emotional rollercoaster. Think big picture. We’re in the hardest stretch of the season while our 2 best players are injured. Lost a closer in Melton. Good thing we built a cushion. We’ll be OK. Long season. West is WIDE open.”

The Western Conference is putting up a tough fight this season. Teams like the Thunder, Rockets, and Mavericks occupy the top seeds. Meanwhile, others like the Lakers and Timberwolves are far down below in the points chart. Amidst this situation, it is hard to know whether the Warriors will be “OK”. However, optimism is the key that may help the fans get through this stretch.
Overall, the reactions were positive towards Stephen Curry and Co. Despite being in this abysmal position; the fans are not ready to give up hope yet. Whether they are rewarded for it through a much-needed win against the Houston Rockets remains to be seen.
