The Golden State Warriors took on the Miami Heat in the Thursday night contest, and the struggle continues. The Dubs had turnover issues right from the start of the season, and the team never seemed to have improved on it. After a flurry of turnovers in the first half of the game, Jonathan Kuminga was found at the receiving end. The Dub Nation didn’t hesitate to fire shots at the 21-year-old for the lapse on the court. Especially, these shots were centered on the massive claim made by the star.

Kuminga definitely has been the loyal workhorse for the Warriors, chipping in crucial buckets from the bench. He was also part of the 2022 Championship run. Eventually, he found his much-cherished spot in the Dubs starting line-up, thanks to Draymond Green‘s indefinite suspension. While new change seemed to be going well for the Dubs, they face a new hurdle, this time from fans.

The Dubs emerged strong with a 5-game winning streak and Jonathan Kuminga played a huge part in it. Especially, Warrior coach Steve Kerr stressed on the Kuminga new role near the rim and athleticism in the start of the season. Following the success of pushing him into the starting line-up, the 21-year-old made a massive claim.

Ahead of the Heat game, Kuminga said, “I’ma keep it real with you. Me with the ball, nobody’s guarding me. Of course, the star worked his way up in the league in the last three years.

But, the recent lapse on the court triggered an adverse reaction from fans. The Warriors conceded 10 turnovers in the 20 minutes and six of them belonged to the youngster.

Fans took to social media, trolling and criticizing the rising star for making the claim. Here are some reactions from fans.

While a majority of the fans trolled the star, some sections of the fans still rooted for the star to perform well.

While the star got the attention after his explosive interview following the Christmas Day game loss, it also opened up chances for a possible locker room feud between Steve Kerr and Kuminga.

Kuminga took indirect shots at Kerr

While it was Kerr who brought the 21-year-old up the ranks and put him in the starting line-up, Kuminga took a dig at the champion coach. Following the Christmas Day game loss against the Denver Nuggets, reported The Athletic.

He indirectly pointed his finger at Steve Kerr for giving less game time to the star. He said, “It’s not up to me to control my minutes… I feel like I’ve done that, but the last voice ain’t mine and it’s not easy because I know how to score the basketball.”

In response to that, Kerr replied, “I wasn’t really offended by the comments… I think JK meant well. I think it may have come out maybe a little differently than he intended. But it’s all good. We talk every day.”
