When Steve Kerr took control of the Golden State Warriors, he had four pillars to rely on. Stephen Curry, Klay Thomspon, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green. While Iggy retired and Klay left for the Mavericks, Steph stayed. And with him, stayed one of the most explosive players of the league. The ever-fearless Dray. The once-22-year-old is now 35, however, his wife, Hazel Renee has yet to move on from the celebrations.
So, on March 4, that is two weeks ago, Draymond Green turned 35. At the time, the Golden State Warriors were at the Madison Square Garden going against the New York Knicks. And as Green himself mentioned it’s always special to play in MSG, his birthday just added to the charm and joy of winning 114-102 vs. the Knicks.
As he turned a year older, Draymond had a specific wish. He prompted his greatest desire. “Y’all know what my wish is,” Green said as someone in the background shouted, “No. 5.” As Stephen Curry recorded his moment, “That’s five candles,” Green responded as he blew them out while everyone cheered. Meanwhile, Hazel Renee took to her Instagram on Friday to share a heartwarming message for her dear husband. With a carousel of photos from the grand birthday bash, Hazel typed out an endearing letter for Draymond Green:

Meanwhile, Green confronted a pressing topic of conversation in the latest edition of the Draymond Green Show. Any guesses? Well, it’s the fresh and fuming rivalry between the 35YO Warriors legend and the New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns. It’s safe to say, Draymond likes things feisty on the court. And as the undisputed king of Trash Talking, Dray enjoyed his back-and-forth with KAT.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Draymond Green's fiery rivalry with KAT fuel the Warriors to another championship?

Draymond Green addresses his rivalry with Karl-Anthony Towns
Before their Bay Area showdown, the Warriors took down the Knicks at MSG. Karl-Anthony Towns missed the game for “personal reasons,” but Draymond Green couldn’t resist a jab. “Some would say he didn’t play because Jimmy was in the building,” he quipped, nodding to KAT’s past with Butler. But the truth? Towns lost a close friend to cancer. The damage was done, by the time Green aired his podcast. He later offered condolences—“Oh, man, that’s unfortunate. I’m sorry to hear that.” Meanwhile, Josh Hart felt an apology was due, but KAT kept it cool.

But in the latest episode of the Draymond Green Show, the 35YO spoke about Towns‘ mentality at Chase Center. KAT dropped a solid 29-point, 12-rebound double-double. But Green? He locked in on defense and sealed the deal with a clutch layup. Moreover, Green admired KAT’s intensity and demeanor but couldn’t ignore one thing—he felt the 2016 ROTY dodged accountability.
“I absolutely loved that he came out with that mentality. There are things that go around the NBA season that should give you a chip on your shoulder,” Draymond Green said of his feud with KAT. “What I hate is when guys act like it didn’t happen, and I’ve actually played against Karl before where some things were said, and he did not come out and act like he knew what was going on, and I hate that…I love the way he came out,” Green further told Baron Davis.
