The Golden State Warriors are no doubt going through a rough patch right now, sustaining a consecutive losing streak. On top of that, Draymond Green’s five-game suspension just weakens the roster of the Dubs. While Klay Thompson is not able to dominate on his half-court run, Chris Paul is not covering the non-curry layups, and Brandin Podziemski is trying to prune his ball-handling skills, an aggressive player like Green just worsens the situation.

While head coach Steve Kerr remanded the power forward for his act, he also seemed to agree to the 5-game suspension. However, Green carried this anecdote along with him in tonight’s hilarious script to mock his past violent altercations.

‘Draymond Green’ made an appearance on SNL, thanking the host for providing him with a platform to make a public apology. However, as the monologue preceded, the apology somehow turned out to be a hilarious script. Mocking the headlock act that he committed on Gobert, the actor playing Green said, “Imagine you have a 7-foot baguette in your face, talking about ‘Ha Ha Ha’.” Citing enough reasons, ‘Green’ mentioned that Gobert, being a tall Frenchman, has been bothering the Warriors’ big man for a long time now.

Commenting on how the NBA has grown softer, he joked around about the fact that he has taken the onus to make the league incline toward the ‘tougher’ side. When the host on Saturday Night Live asked the actor about his previous acts of kicking a veteran in his groin, the ‘Warriors superstar’ seemed to take that ‘as a not-so-serious’ incident as well.

One can justify his actions following a dialogue given in a script, but ‘unsportsmanlike’ activities like these just don’t make any sense.

Frenchman Rudy Gobert isn’t the only one to fall victim to the on-court aggression of DrayMagic. Instead, there is a whole chain of incidents that have been recorded year after year. Although the player was initially fined and is now suspended, there seem to be little to no apologies for the acts. Since 2015, Green has occupied a permanent place in the top 5 players’ list of total technical fouls committed each year. The recent scuffle with Jordan Poole early last season, the kick to Steven Adams, and the LeBron James hand-to-hand are all notable acts Green has committed.

It is in line with these physically dominating acts that the NBA announced the suspension, citing his ‘past’ record. It’s no secret that if the player wants to stay relevant in the league, he has to keep his anger in check.
