During the final seconds of the fourth quarter, the Warriors had a three-point lead. The thunder inbounded the ball, and it eventually ended up in the hands of Chet Holmgren. As Holmgren went up for a three-point heave, Green ended up fouling him.

After the game, the defensive anchor of the Warriors spoke to the media. He said, “It’s something we’ve been talking about a lot, fouling when were up three.”

“So, I was very hyper-sensitive like I gotta foul. You don’t want that guy to get a three up. I personally thought that I got him before he started his upward motion. But I saw the replay too and it’s close as hell.”

“And regardless of if I did or didn’t, if it’s close they’re gonna go with the call on the floor. The call on the floor is three shots. And I gotta be better. He’s facing the rim, I can’t foul there.”

Green was visibly upset with a mistake that is not expected from a veteran player.

The foul committed by Draymond Green ended up sending Chet Holmgren to the free-throw line for three shots. He ended up making all three, tying the game and forcing it into the overtime period.

That is all the Thunder needed. Oklahoma City’s young squad made one final push in the overtime period. The Warriors scored 18 points as opposed to the Thunder’s 20 in OT. And that was all it took.

Had Green not fouled Holmgren in the final seconds of the fourth, the Warriors would’ve won the game. Alas, now the Warriors have lost three straight games to the Thunder, getting ready to play them in a back-to-back game in their next matchup.
