Is Draymond Green right to scoff at Miles Bridges, or is he just being disrespectful?

With Klay Thompson departing to Dallas and Draymond Green entering the latter stages of his career, there have been constant talks regarding the former DPOY’s future in the Bay Area. Now that the core trio has been separated, many believe that Dray might be next in line to be dealt away by GSW. However, if worse comes to worst, Green revealed his preference for where he would like to be traded to while taking a massive dig at the Hornets. Sure enough, his disrespectful comment led to an interesting back-and-forth between him and Miles Bridges.

Recently making an appearance on The Club 520 Podcast, Green revealed his thoughts about a possible trade from Golden State, “I tell you what though, I pray to God if they ever feel the need to get rid of me. At least send me somewhere, (holds his laughter). If they gonna send me to any non-winning organization, I’d much rather it be Detroit than Charlotte.” And his statement rubbed Miles Bridges the wrong way as he tagged the Warriors star on X sending him multiple middle finger emojis as a stern message.

Soon after, Draymond further joked and mocked the Forward’s online attack, commenting, “🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”. Although Bridges’ message included profanities, it is possible that there were no ill intentions behind it. Why? You ask. Well, that’s because Draymond Green and Miles have always had a good relationship, as both superstars are alumni of the same college, Michigan State University.

Moreover, Draymond Green only preferred Detroit over Charlotte because it’s just two hours away from his hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. “That’s the crib, I can make it due there,” Green remarked. However, Mikal Bridges had to defend his city, considering he very recently signed a three-year $75 million extension to secure his future in Charlotte.

Draymond Green has expressed his love for “little brother” Miles Bridges before

Although Green and Bridges disagreed on the Warriors star’s Hornets stance, just a few months ago, Draymond was the one who stood by the 26-year-old Forward after his in-game scuffle. During a regular season game against the Warriors in Feb, Bridges got into an altercation with guard Lester Quinones after being called for goaltending on a block attempt in garbage time. And that led to both teams getting into a big scuffle.

However, after the game, Draymond Green expressed his trust in his fellow Michigan State star, “Miles is my guy, you know, that’s my little brother, so I’m not gonna sit here and go in on Miles. Miles can do no wrong to me.” With Green making it clear that he has no intentions of going to Charlotte, it doesn’t look like the two will be teammates anytime soon.

More importantly, the former DPOY hopes he finishes his career in the Bay Area. “I hope I don’t go anywhere,” he said. So, it seems like a far-fetched idea that Draymond will even be in a Pistons’ uniform in the future. He seems well fixated on continuing his tenure in the Bay Area and recently even revealed advising Joe Lacob against a potential trade deal.

“I’ve always spoken from a place of, ‘What’s best for this organization?’ I won’t stop now. ‘That’s a bad trade. Don’t do that trade. I disagree with it although it’s going to help me right now,’” Draymond Green narrated the incident.

While he didn’t reveal any names, the Warriors have strongly been linked to Lauri Markkanen in the past few weeks, and those rumors have gone cold, so it could be assumed the chatter was about the Utah Jazz and their demands.
