The infamous punching incident between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green in the training session crumbled the Warriors. However, the mystery of the core cause of the altercation remained secret until now. The video showcasing the veteran’s embarrassing actions was leaked soon after the incident. It followed a fine from the Warriors‘ front office, but not a suspension. Theories and speculations floated around the NBA community. However, Gilbert Arenas tried to finally unfold the truth for the fans.
He revisited the viral video that eclipsed the Warriors’ Championship ambitions. Launching a jab at the incident before moving ahead, Arenas said, “Jordan got knocked out…little did he know he was already in Washington.”
However, moving to the unknown aspects of the story, Arenas revealed, “After this hit, Draymond goes to the locker room. And they said Iggy followed him. Iguodala is the player I think that followed him.” Defending the veteran’s side, Arenas urged fans on the ‘No Chill Gil’ pod to try to understand as he said, “Draymond Green in the locker room upset, crying and they said Iggy is trying to talk to him.” So Iggy, who is Andre Iguodala here, asked the 4x NBA All-Star about how he was feeling and the player’s well-being.

However, what followed the moment of questions was surprising, as Draymond confessed that the physical outburst “was about his kids.” Arenas claimed, ” I guess he was going through something with his ex, the mother of his kids.” His ex was Jelissa Hardy, the mother of Kyla and Draymond Jr. So, it was something family-related that had Green “mentally” absent during the incident. But what Draymond did in his so-called state was wrong and a member of the Warriors squad had the audacity to call it out front.
3x NBA Champion attempted to show Draymond Green the mirror after the Jordan Poole incident
As Gilbert Arenas moved ahead with his narration of behind-the-scenes from the infamous incident, he spits another revelation. “The next person that came in [after Iggy], Looney came in, and he’s looking at Iguodala,” the 42-year-old said. However, instead of directly confronting Draymond, who was already in an unstable state, Kevon Looney talked to Iguodala.
“Yo, he just knocked the dude out. He knocked out the homie,” Gil quoted Looney’s words to Iguodala at the time.
However, Iggy then tried to clear the picture with his response, as Gilbert re-enacted the scenario, saying, “Like wait nah! nah…I think he has family problems.” So Looney entered the locker room to make Draymond realize his grave mistake. However, the Warrior was already feeling guilty about his doings. But going through it all, Arenas himself felt that the vet “wasn’t in real-time.”
