Golden State Warriors star defender Draymond Green has been delivering an exceptional performance during the ongoing NBA season. At the same time, however, he is also letting his alleged competitive spirit get the better of him at times. Along with engaging in some occasional trash talk, Green has also been seen participating in some unwarranted scruffle during a couple of games. The same was seen during the ongoing matchup between the Warriors and the Memphis Grizzles, as the player engaged in a physical altercation with Desmond Bane. This incident, however, seems to have ended in a different manner when compared to Green’s previous ones.
In the aftermath of the altercation, after the benches were cleared, Draymond Green was once again seen heading towards the direction of Desmond Bane. This time, however, the Warriors star chose to make peace by shaking the player’s hand and nodding after the latter whispered something in his ear. Given how Green has already been suspended twice this season over his on-court scruffles, the player seems to be taking no other risks this time around.

The incident occurred as the game entered it’s second quarter. After Green and 23-year-old player Santi Aldama earlier got into a small altercation, the latter’s team coach Taylor Jenkins began arguing with a referee as the Warriors star looked on. Once Bane started pulling him away, Green reportedly started pushing back. As the rest of the players attempted to separate the two, Jenkins himself seemed to have fallen on the floor.
Draymond Green was suspended for 5 games back in November after getting into an on-court feud with Rudy Gobert. A month later, he would go on to hit Jusuf Nurkic in the face and receive an additional 16-day suspension. During the same time, Green took help by participating in a counselling program and combating his ‘problem’ head on. While we may never know whether the player making amends with Bane was a result of those counselling sessions, the 34-year-old did seem to handle the situation better this time around.

Draymond Green is channelling his anger by delivering a commendable performance
Draymond Green may have quelled his anger this time, but the competitive spirit within him is probably something that will be hard to get rid of. Luckily, however, the player seems to be channelling his anger in a more fruitful direction during the matchup against the Grizzles.
During his 24 minutes on the court, Green contributed 10 points and an astonishing 11 rebounds to his team’s overall scoring effort. Onlookers at the Chase Center saw the player being on fire, taking the ball in his possession after it missed going through the hoop. A recent X post highlighted Green’s passion as he ran along the court, pointing his finger at numerous Grizzles players. Even the commentators had a hard time holding in their laughter.

The Warriors have 14 more games remaining to establish their position in the playoff series. Therefore, both the other players and fans will be probably hoping for Draymond Green to continue his redemption arc in a healthy manner.
