Jimmy Butler had to go to the locker room during Game 2 of the Warriors’ series with the Houston Rockets. He suffered a tailbone injury, and ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk reports that he’s struggling to move. But guess who the Dubs Nation blames for this injury? A hint: it’s not a Houston Rockets player. No, the Dubs Nation blames one of their own for this injury to Butler. And that player is the notorious Draymond Green.

Yes, the Bay Area faithful believe Jimmy Butler’s injury was the result of Draymond Green’s actions. You could call Jimmy’s fall “scary,” but that barely scratches the surface. It happened in the thick of a rebounding scramble—Jimmy went up strong, and as he came down, he didn’t just fall… he was launched.

Amen Thompson, trying to contest the board, got boxed out—badly—by Draymond Green, who shoved the rookie right into Butler’s landing path. The result? Thompson’s body slid right under Jimmy mid-air, like a rogue tackle in slow motion. The collision sent Butler flipping over, his legs knocked out from under him.

If you froze the moment in a photo, it’d look like someone was hoisting a kid onto their shoulders—except here, Butler wasn’t being lifted, he was being catapulted. His neck snapped back, limbs flailing, and when he hit the floor—tailbone first—it wasn’t just painful to watch. It was violent. His entire frame jolted from the impact, a ragdoll crash that made you wince even before the slow-mo replay kicked in!

Thanks to the Athletic’s Anthony Slater, we now know that Jimmy Butler has a pelvic contusion. For the eagle-eyed among you, yes, Steph Curry suffered the same injury a few weeks ago. Curry only missed 2 games due to this injury. In that time, it healed enough that they only needed to manage the pain.. However, per Slater, Jimmy will likely have an MRI tomorrow, and only then will we learn about the extent of his injury.

Nonetheless, all this has got the Dubs Nation livid with Green for being so careless. And can you really blame them? The fall Jimmy took looked horrifying after all. Expectedly, fans on X (formerly Twitter) had a meltdown over Jimmy’s injury and the role Draymond played in it. And we’ve compiled some of the best reactions from fans to this debacle.

Draymond Green sparks outrage over controversial play that led to Jimmy Butler’s injury

Needless to say, the Dubs Nation did not hold back in expressing their anger over Draymond’s alleged misstep tonight. “Draymond Greens’ dumba– injured Jimmy Butler by pushing Amen Thompson into him while he was in midair,” wrote an irate Dubs fan on X. As you can tell from the language on display here, this fan did not mince their words. But given how important Jimmy Butler has been to the Warriors, their stance on Draymond’s actions is understandable.

But the Warriors’ fanbase seems to be once bitten, twice shy when it comes to Green. “Draymond injuring Jimmy by pushing an opponent into him is peak Draymond,” wrote an X user, lamenting Green’s failings. “Draymond green costing the warriors another championship run because he pushed a player into jimmy butler after already getting KD shipped out is hilarious,” said another member of the Dubs’ community on X. Of course, they’re referring to the potential championships Draymond cost the Warriors. After all, his beef with Kevin Durant led to him leaving the Warriors. This ended the super team era in the Bay Area. KD would go on to join the Brooklyn Nets. And the fans blamed Draymond, just like tonight!
