And for the past decade, they have won four titles in a row. Lillard is currently a player of the Portland Trail Blazers where he has played for 11 seasons of his career. Over 769 games, his regular-season career averages are 25.2 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, demonstrating his flexibility and importance to any club.
Upon making his guest appearance on It Is What It Is, he spoke at length about who’s the best PG in the NBA. And mind you, his answer wasn’t Stephen Curry. He said, “I’ve played against him a lot we play in the same league at the same time. I think a lot of times he’s more a shooting guard type of a role. It’s a lot of movement off the ball, Draymond is almost like the actual point guard of the team, even though Steph is the point guard“. He further added, “I think if Steph Played the offense like me or it was required for him to have to had the ball more; You’ll get to see him doing more point guard stuff”.
Lillard’s enormous impact and popularity in the league are clear, with seven All-Star Game nominations. Although after nearly 11 years of service and loyalty, Lillard has requested a trade from the Trail Blazers. Even at the age of 33, he can average 32.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game, cementing his place as a top player. So there are many teams in contention for this star player. But when he was asked about joining his hometown team with Stephen Curry, Lillard had a very bold answer.

He lauded the Warriors for their accomplishments, but swiftly stated why he would not consider joining them.

The Portland Trail Blazers’ standout guard is committed to leaving his mark and addressing problems straight on. “I can’t go be a part of that,” Lillard said. He also mentions that they took home four championships, adding, “What am I going to look like and say, ‘Oh, I’m joining my home team’? Like, no”. He went on to talk about the existence of Stephen Curry, whom he thinks to be the second-best player of this age after LeBron James. Probably, this is another reason he would not contemplate such a move.
