Surprise or a shocker? Well, we all are falling short of words, too. Draymond Green continues to surprise everyone with his unusual shift in demeanor. Going with the popular NBA meme trend, the therapy really seemed to have worked for the 4x NBA Champ. Tonight, the Dubs hosted the Wizards and Jordan Poole was piping hot, sinking 3s for fun. Naturally, fans’ attention turned toward Green for messing up Poole’s stay on the team. This is where Green’s real character arc comes into play.

Moments after the Saturday night win over the Wizards, Green did something unthinkable. So, after dropping a game-high 38 points, Poole had a message to the Warriors roster. He said, “I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there.” Well, the “most” in his statement seemed to have had an implication and it caught DrayMagic’s eyes. Draymond Green reposted NBA Insider Marc. Spears’ X post, quoting Jordan Poole’s statement, and wrote, “I really am sorry.”

It’s not like Green hasn’t apologized to Poole after the physical abuse. Long story short, during a practice session in the 2022-23 season, Green punched Poole in the Warriors facility. Days after the incident, Green publicly said, “I was wrong for my actions that took place on Wednesday. For that, I have apologized to my team. I have apologized to Jordan.”

However, things got ugly when Poole left the franchise ahead of the 2023-24 season. There were instances of the duo going after each other on court despite the trade out. Anyway, let’s find out what fans feel about Green post the Poole Party.

During the 2024 offseason, the Green-Poole punch controversy popped up after intricate details of the incident surfaced online. Moreover, it was the time when Green was working on himself after missing a major chunk of games, serving an indefinite suspension for an ugly on-court physical altercation. Until then, Dubs Nation wasn’t seriously concerned about Poole’s departure as he had a quiet run in his Wizards’ first season.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Draymond Green's apology to Poole a sign of maturity or just damage control?

Have an interesting take?

However, it took a turn this season, as he is amidst a career-high season, averaging 21.9 ppg, and tonight, he dropped 38 points against the Dubs, further rubbing it on the fans’ faces. And it was Green’s time to face the wrath. A fan wrote, I will never forgive Draymond Green. Jordan Poole is so f–king good. F–k!!” Another fan went ahead and accused Green of a huge crime, writing, You single-handedly ended the warriors dynasty with that punch.”

Well, Poole played a significant role in the 2022 championship, coming off the bench. Losing him was indeed left a void on the bench. Nevertheless, a fan, reacting to Green’s latest apology, anticipated hope, writing, Jokes aside if yall can work s–t out we should trade for jp back man.” With the Warriors looking for a trade ahead of the deadline, the Dubs can really look into this option.

However, a fan didn’t buy into Green’s apology, as they wrote, you were literally mocking him a month ago lol,” pointing out the duo’s on-court heated affair a month ago. Ahead of tonight’s game, the Dubs visited the capital in November. At that time, the duo exchanged gestures, and, out of nowhere, tonight, Green apologized.

On the other hand, a fan wasn’t affected by Poole’s departure, as they wrote, Nah bro he wasn’t producing his last year and he’s one of the least consistent players I’ve seen.” Nevertheless, a less consistent player won’t average close to 22 ppg in a season. What do you make of the beef? Should Poole return to the Warriors? Let us know in the comments.
