Since the Suns got swept by the Timberwolves a few weeks ago, there have been many questions regarding what the future holds for them. While Mat Ishbia decides whether or not to continue his Big 3 experiment next season, Warriors’ star Draymond Green took this opportunity to fire shots at Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic. Reigniting their season-long beef, Green cited him as one of the major reasons for Phoenix’s lack of success.

Taking over his second job of a TNT analyst, now that he is no longer a part of the postseason, Draymond made an appearance on Inside The NBA. He immediately threw shade at Nurkic, saying, “The Suns have no big man… KD the Suns big man. They got no big man.” Completely disregarding Nurkic’s legitimacy as a viable center for the Suns, Draymond Green further claimed that Kevin Durant, by default, has to play the big man role in Phoenix.

Dealt to the Phoenix Suns before the start of this season in the historic three-team matter that also involved Damian Lillard going to Milwaukee, Nurkic became the starting Center for this star-studded squad. And he did a decent job during the regular season, averaging nearly eleven points while also grabbing eleven boards on a nightly basis.

However, his course took a drastic hit in the playoff, Going up against Minnesota’s lengthy lineup, his numbers dropped to 7.8 points a little over eight rebounds. Moreover, Nurkic was no match to big men like Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid, KAT, or even Anthony Edwards. So, even though Draymond’s words might be too harsh, he might have a fair point.

It’s not the first time Draymond has slammed Nurkic, as their disagreements have been pretty public all season. It all started in December, after Draymond Green hit the Suns big man in his face during a game, getting suspended indefinitely for his actions. Meanwhile, Nurkic rubbed salt in his wounds after the game, saying, “I feel like the brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me.” His statements were in referrence to Draymond putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock just a few days ago.

Then, their beef escalated further when both players met once again, for the first time since the incident. The duo kept taunted each other throughout the game with ‘too little’ celebrations. It got so heated that Nurkic retracted his previous statement, saying, “He’s going to knock somebody else again. I take everything back, what I said. He doesn’t deserve a chance.” And that statement enraged Draymond Green even more, as he believed he did not do anything unethical during their second meeting. Narrating his side, Green took out his frustrations on his podcast.

Calling Nurkic names like “little guy, clown, the Big Softie, and even a coward,” Draymond disrespected him while mentioning, “You’re just not good enough to do things like that.” And then, when the Suns got eliminated in the first round, Green brought back Nurkic’s tweet that he posted after the Warriors got eliminated, saying, “Unfortunately, that’s all folks!”

Now, with Draymond once again firing shots at Nurkic, it seems like their beef is not going to end anytime soon. And hopefully, it will lead to some competitive basketball next season as well. What’s your take on Draymond and Nurkic’s prolonged rivalry? Let us know in the comments.
