The Golden State Warriors snapped a two-game losing streak with a big 131-106 win over the Chicago Bulls. The performance was fueled by the rise of rookie Quinten Post, who had a career night scoring 20 points, as he shot 5-of-10 from the deep! But, it was his ability to space the floor that impressed everyone the most, including Stephen Curry.
Curry had been feeling dejected with the team’s performance—one of their worst losses on the home court. But, right after the Bulls win, he became “the happiest man in the building“. It was Post who had transformed the Warriors’ offense something they had lacked this season, contributing to the team’s win thereby uplifting Curry’s spirits. While to many the big man’s emergence may have come across as a bit of a surprise, veteran Draymond Green was ahead of the curve. Back in October last year, during the Warriors’ training camp, Green was impressed by the 2nd round pick’s performance in training.
While addressing the media the veteran spoke about Post’s admirable style of play. “I like him a lot. He can shoot the ball. He’s super physical. He seeks contact on both sides of the court, which is not always common in this league today. I like him. He’s smart. He talks. He’s one of the guys I’m more impressed with.” said Green. Although Green identified Post’s talent during the camp, the rookie had to wait his turn as he spent the majority of his time playing in the G League.

Furthermore, Green saw the potential and was impressed by his two-way skills, something the Dubs needed among their ranks. Now, the 24-year-old towering center is making the most of the opportunity given to him. So much so, that we’ll be seeing more of him alongside Curry and Co. as coach Kerr has increased his playing minutes. Sure this gives Curry and Post the chance to build a wonderful relationship on court. However, it looks like the two share a bond off-court already. Just recently, the rookie recalled an instance with the Dubs superstar that he’ll always remember.

Quinten Post recalls a wholesome moment with Stephen Curry after the win over Chicago
After a career-high night Post shared a warming gesture that the Warriors veteran did for him just a while back. He was trying to get an Uber at 2:30 a.m. after returning from an away game, but it was proving difficult for him to do so. That’s when Curry stepped in.

Curry being the generous guy he is, offered Post a ride home. “Steph is like, ‘I got you’. He drove me home, he did a little detour (about 20 minutes). That just shows how he is as a person. Probably out of the 50 people that were at the airport, Steph was the last person who needed to worry about if I got home. That’s just the person he is. A great teammate and then, obviously, everything on the court speaks for itself.” Said Post.

This incident just goes to show the humbleness of Curry, who took it upon himself to drive Post home even though it meant he’d have to go out of his way. The best part? There are plenty of such stories about Curry, all of them making you appreciate stars like Steph Curry even more.
