Hosting the Memphis side at Chase Center without Stephen Curry, the Warriors had control throughout the stretch with a fantastic shooting display. However, at one point, it looked like the team lost it all after Draymond Green engaged with a ref. While the star power forward has toned down his aggression in the last few months, last night, it popped out because of the Grizzlies rookie, Zach Eddey.

During the 4th quarter, Green and Edey got tangled up in a rebound attempt. The situation was immediately brought under control, but the refs initiated a review and slapped a flagrant foul on the veteran for unnecessary contact. The entire crowd, along with Steph, was surprised by the decision, as the visuals showed the star was only attempting to steal the ball. Of course, Green wasn’t impressed as he taunted the refs, screaming “Surprise” multiple times in a sarcastic tone.

A few moments later, Draymond Green faced another trouble when the ref slapped a technical foul for screaming “Boom” after hitting a three, adding to his 156 total career techs. And to everyone’s shock, the officials didn’t provide the pool report after the game, citing procedural technicality. On the other hand, Green went on a rant and addressed his personal loss, accusing the ref of unfair calls. He said, “My children lose money in their trust fund because I said, ‘Boom.’ That’s beautiful.”

Not long ago, DrayMagic blamed the league for the targeted fines slapped at him in a podcast with Shaquille O’Neal. He said, “I do something wrong, I lose $100,000. Man… I lose that in a night because what? The referee got mad at me, and he didn’t like what I said to him, so I lose $5,000 like that, on a tech?” CBS Sports, following the star’s statement, estimated the amount that Green had lost via suspensions and fines and, it amounted to $3.2 million and $900,000. That’s indeed a lot of money.

The flagrant foul did bring out a different version of Draymond Green on Saturday night. Notably, during a possession after the drama, Green went near the Grizzlies bench and engaged in a few antics as well. Moreover, he didn’t let it subside, even after the game as well.

While we often find the star at the press conference, last night, the reporters interacted with him from the Dubs locker room. When a reporter asked about the flagrant foul. Green said, “It’s Draymond Green. That’s why it’s a flagrant foul”. Moreover, he went on to point out the unfair treatment, saying, “It’s funny. You know what’s ironic? JK clean elbow to the hip, boom. I say, ‘That’s a review.’ I said, ‘If I blow on someone, y’all review it’.”

Following that, he proceeded to the surprise technical foul and raised a serious question regarding refs. He added, “I got a tech for saying boom. I say boom every time I hit a three. When did (the referees) become so above the law that you can’t say ‘Boom!’” In the recent past, many coaches have faced fines for critiquing the officials after the game. Will Green face a similar fate? Let us know in the comments.
