The Warriors are preparing to build another game plan around their veteran forward, Draymond Green. Reinstated by the NBA, it won’t be long before he is on the court. Yet to know the exact date, there is no doubt that his arrival will be a relief. But in the wake of the reinstation, Green released a podcast episode dedicated to his time since the suspension.

He issued a heartfelt apology to Stephen Curry for receiving the heat for his actions in that episode. Hours later, when asked about whether these actions might have forced Curry to “lose moments of his prime,” Green had a diplomatic answer. “I don’t necessarily look at it like that, because we are all in this together. One of us fail, we all fail. It’s a team sport.”

Hilariously enough, the man contradicts himself in his next sentence. While he believes a one-person failure affects the entire team, Green also says that he cares more about “the person”. “How am I affecting the person,” is a question he asks himself. Whether this was another subtle apology to Steph or Draymond was just being Draymond is open for interpretation.

Anyway, it’s clear that the Dubs are soon to be recipients of some ‘DrayMagic’. According to ESPN, his active participation can be expected in a week. With how things are progressing in the Golden State, the sooner the better. No one can contest that Draymond Green is an elite defender who can guard all five positions.

12th seeded in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record, Green’s addition is sure to scare away at least a few opponents. It could be that the league or the management doesn’t want to leave anything to chance, but the counseling sessions will continue as it is. And hopefully, he meant what he said during his public apology to Curry.

In the apology to his close friend and colleague, Steph, Green talks about how crushed he was to learn about people putting Curry on the chopping block. Dray goes on to cite the example of Stephen A. Smith calling the 4x champion out for his bad leadership.

Dray could not understand how anyone could call Stephen Curry, who does everything right and ensures everybody is taken care of, could become a bad leader. Especially for actions that Curry is not responsible for. “It pissed me off, but it crushed me,” he states.

It’s clear that 4x All-Star’s words are coming from a good place. He genuinely feels the indignity of such an accusation. Can his words translate into actions? Let’s wait and see!
