The Los Angeles Lakers booked their semi-final slot in the ongoing In-Season tournament. They gained victory over the Phoenix Suns in a nail-biting encounter. It was the fifth consecutive win for the Lakers in the tournament for the NBA Cup. The magic of Austin Reaves did the trick for the team in the final moments.

The Lakers tried to maintain the lead from the start of the game, but the Suns kept making attempts to overthrow them. LeBron James had a great game, but it was Reaves’ heroics that put the last nail in the hopes of the Suns.

Los Angeles Lakers got the semi-final berth with the win and will face New Orleans on Thursday. LeBron James scored 15 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter. Along with 31 points, he also had 11 assists and 8 rebounds. But Austin Reaves’ 3 points with 15 seconds left on the clock helped the Lakers clinch the victory. He scored 20 points in the match with 6 rebounds. Austin paired nicely with Anthony Davis scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. After the match, the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers Dravin Ham complemented the star for saving the team as the Lakers clinched a narrow victory.

With a clutch crossover triple over Grayson Allen,  Austin Reaves exuded confidence while rubbing shoulders with veterans like LeBron James. After the match, the star shared his mental makeup.

After the game, Reaves shared that his trust in himself and work in the gym among other factors proved to be the mantra for his success. Reaves said, “Like I’ve said many times, I put the work in. I’m in the gym a lot. I haven’t shot the ball as well as I wanted to so far this year. And I just keep trusting myself.”

As the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers spoke highly about the NBA star, Reaves too paid back. He said that his coach and his teammates put the same trust in him. Reaves added, “Obviously my teammates and coaches have the same trust in giving me the ball in that situation so I don’t want to let them down.”
