LeBron James has taken to X to announce his partnership with DraftKings, a betting and Daily Fantasy Sports brand, worth a whopping $18.57 billion and ranked as the world’s 966th most valuable company. This announcement comes just a few hours after Bron posted an hourglass emoji on X, which threw fans into a frenzy. While it was obvious that a huge announcement was on the way, fans were left unsure about whether to expect good news or in the worst-case scenario, news regarding his retirement.

Fortunately, the news was anything but disappointing. Bron, a huge football fan, declared the new partnership on X with the caption, “Football season just got A LOT more fun. Let’s go!” Launched in 2016, the company serves as a platform for users to participate and bet in daily and weekly fantasy sports-related competitions. This allows them to win cash based on the performances of individual players across a variety of sports including the NFL and the NBA.

This is LeBron’s second partnership this year alone. King James kicked off 2024 with a new partnership with Fanatics, a digital sports merchandise platform. It is an exclusive multi-year trading card deal in which he will work with the company’s trading card and collectibles division, Fanatics Collectibles. His recent partnership with DraftKings will elevate his football experience. This is a bonus for Bron, who is one of the biggest fans of the sport and even received offers to play in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys wanted Bron to play for them

LeBron used to play football for his school, St. Vincent-St. Mary as a young boy and excelled in it. For most of his life, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan, until 2017, when he changed alliance to the Cleveland Browns. Bron admitted that in 2011, during the NBA lockout, he received offers from NFL teams like the Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks.

Being a huge fan of the sport, Bron revealed that he was tempted. “It definitely got my blood flowing again, my mind racing again thinking about the game of football, being out there on Sundays…I definitely thought about it. I’ve still got the jersey Jerry and Pete Carroll sent me from 2011,” he said.
