Hairstyles have played a huge influence in shaping pop and sports culture over the years. Although players like LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and many others don’t like to spend too much time maintaining their hair, others like to have a swanky haircut. One of the most popular players in the league currently is Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum. The 25-year-old is a huge fan favorite for his on-court performance and off-court persona.
Recently, the 4x NBA All-Star appeared on a podcast with Kevin Hart. During a segment on the podcast, the comedian revealed the secret behind Tatum’s hair.

Jayson Tatum’s hairstyle might be the only thing better than his basketball ability. He rocks a fairly simple but very stylish curly hair with a mid-taper fade.

Recently, Kevin Hart had Tatum over on his ‘Cold as Balls’ podcast. In this podcast, both Hart and the guest take dips in ice water! However, the comedian has refrained from doing so for this podcast as the 44-year-old is nursing his injured leg. After finishing a segment of the podcast, Hart wanted to move forward to the next topic. Interestingly, he was cut short by the Celtics star who said, “My hair?”, expecting a question about his hairstyle.
It looks like Hart had other plans, but Tatum wasn’t going to let him off that easily. “I know you wish you had curly hair”, said the 2022 Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
Instead of admiring the NBA star’s hair, Hart went on to roast him. “I don’t wish I had that f***ing hair”, said Hart. Interestingly, he also mentioned that Tatum never touches his hair during a game as it might fall off!
This roast came just minutes after Tatum had given Hart a special Celtics jersey. It belonged to his son, Deuce! Although Deuce is 6 years old, the 2T jersey still fits perfectly for 5-foot-2-inch tall Kevin Hart.

Tatum didn’t have this hairstyle until a few years ago. Coming into the league, he was a young 19-year-old who had also become a father at that age.
During that time, the 3rd overall pick of the 2017 draft preferred a buzz cut. He kept that hairstyle during his time at Duke, where he made a name for himself. After years of experimenting with his hair, Tatum decided to grow out his hair and display his incredible curls.
