Donovan Mitchell ditching the Jets for the Browns—Is this the ultimate betrayal or a smart move?

Keeping aside his NY Jets jersey for the day, Donovan Mitchell is joining the party to support the Cleveland Browns. The NFL team is about to begin their campaign with the first match against the Dallas Cowboys. Before the air gets too intense, a celebration is needed. So, the 5x NBA All-Star joined hands with Myles Garrett of the Browns in the Parking Lot before the Cowboys game.

Both the Cleveland stars, came together, to create the ultimate fun memories. Right before the kickoff, Donovan Mitchell showed up at a tailgate in a parking lot outside of the newly minted-Huntington Bank Field. ESPN’s Adam Schaffer tweeted a video of Garrett leading the Browns fans in a chant. He then gave a warm welcome to the Cavaliers foreman. Myles Garrett showed up at the parking lot, to thank his fans for their insane support. He will be defending his NFL Defensive Player of The Year title this year, and the support of his fans will be of utmost importance.

Meanwhile, the Spida Mitchell used tin barrels for bowling. The Browns fans kept chanting words of encouragement for the NBA star. It was a sight to behold, as the barrel rolled down the slant and hit all the pins! The cheering was immaculate. Moreover, Donovan Mitchell was thoroughly enjoying every moment, cherishing the joys of fandom. Donovan needed this happy recharging session before the training camps started. Soon, the 2024-25 preseason will kick off. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum’s sweet birthday message for Spida has caught some attention.

Rivals on the court, but great friends off the same- this is the relationship Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum share. So, when the Cavs star turned 28 on Saturday, the Celtics star joined the queue to wish his friend a ‘Happy Birthday’. Tatum took to his IG Story to share a snap of the two NBA stars in an embrace. The photo has the message: “More life my brotha @spidamitchell”

In 2017, the Utah Jazz drafted Donovan Mitchell, who later joined the Cleveland Cavaliers.  In the previous season, Donovan was the top scorer for the Cavs. He averaged 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest. While shooting 46.2% from the field he scored 36.8% from the three-point range in 55 games. Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum was also drafted in 2017 and has spent all seven seasons with the Celtics. Last year he won the NBA Championship with the same.

Many matches have been played between the two players; and intense ones might we add. But, the rivalry in the arena hasn’t marred their friendship. This is something worth learning from. With the upcoming season just around the corner, there is no doubt that this season will not be any different. The same rivalry will continue if not more or less. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell and Jayson Tatum would fight it out to emerge victorious in the end.
