They say success has its own recipe, and for NBA players, it’s all about hard work, sweat, and hustle. But what if a secret recipe wasn’t just about effort on the court? What if it was something you could actually eat? Domantas Sabonis knows all about it. His wife’s signature dish has been his secret weapon since his Pacers days. Now, she’s sharing the recipe—or should we say the magic sauce—and it’s got everyone buzzing.
After seven years of waiting in anticipation, America’s favorite Lithuanian star, Domantas Sabonis’ wife Shashana has revealed a special recipe. A secret sauce for her legendary “pre-game” pasta exclusively for her husband. She’s been making this dish since 2017 when the 3x NBA All-Star was playing for the Indiana Pacers. And well, it looks like the recipe has stayed on like a little ritual. She captioned her post: “Pre Game PASTA SAUCE 🍝🏀 I have been talking about this sauce since Indy days and telling people I would get to it: here we are.”

Shashana Sabonis née Rosen shared a reel that finally unveiled her secret ingredient: vodka. Yes, the alcoholic beverage that gives you tingles of ecstasy is adding ultimate flavors to a pasta recipe. But of course, vodka isn’t the only ingredient Domantas Sabonis’ wife uses. She adds tomato paste, heavy cream, brown sugar, and other condiments to make her dish stand out. However, going from typical European to an American audience, she measures everything in grams and not tsp! So, at the end of her caption, she added: “I’m sorry it’s in grams. It’s the only way for me to accurately make sure the recipe transfers to whoever needs it!”
Meanwhile, Sabonis’ teammate and Sacramento Kings current beacon of hope, De’Aaron Fox‘s wife, Recee Fox added a comment to Shashana’s post. She wrote: “That’s what’s in the secret sauce- vodka!!😂” Well, vodka is a popular ingredient for pasta and just so you know, Italians also approve of it. The sauce gained popularity in Italy in the 1970s. Some people believe a chef at Dante, a restaurant in Bologna, created it. Others claim a Roman chef working for a vodka company invented it. Meanwhile, in America, the unique ingredient gained popularity in the 80s.
But, coming back to the NBA, Domantas Sabonis, the Lithuanian-American hooper of the Kings might miss his second game of the season on Monday against the Atlanta Hawks.
Domantas Sabonis’ injury report could be a concern for Mike Brown’s strategies for the Kings vs. Hawks
Domantas Sabonis (back) remains doubtful for Monday’s clash with the Hawks, raising concerns for the Kings. Dealing with lower back tightness, Sabonis is on track to miss his second straight game, leaving a significant void in the lineup.
