Domantas Sabonis carries a lot with him whenever he steps onto an NBA court. Cementing his legacy in the world of basketball is not all he’s burdened with. The Sacramento Kings’ big man is also trying to live up to his father, Arvydas Sabonis’ mighty legacy.

“I’m just another basketball player. He’s a legend,” Sabonis once told ESPN’s Baxter Holmes. And the Kings star has done everything to ensure that he ends up a legend like his father. So far, he’s succeeded and there’s no better proof than how much the Kings value him. And one way we can measure that is by looking at how they’ve compensated him so far.

What is Domantas Sabonis’ salary with the Sacramento Kings? When does his contract end?

Domantas didn’t have the start he wanted for his NBA career. He did feature in a starting role for the OKC Thunder in his rookie season. But that didn’t mean his numbers reflected his talent or pedigree. How many points do you think he averaged as a first-round, top-15 Draft pick? Only 5.9 points per game! And despite leading the league in boards in 2024/25, he only had 3.6 rebounds per game as a rookie.

But his trade to the Indiana Pacers must’ve been a wake-up call for him. Sabonis never looked back once his points and rebound average hit double figures. And since he moved to the Kings, he has never averaged less than 18 points and 12 rebounds for them. This is why it’s no surprise that the Kings offered him a massive $186 million, 4-year contract extension in July 2023.
