You can be anything in this world, but try stepping into Coach Doc Rivers’ shoes. Unfortunately, it’s the last place you want to be in. This championship-winning coach hasn’t had a great run this season, losing six games in a row. And tonight, he paid the price for it, as the Wisconsin fans turned up the heat against the 63-year-old in the match-up against the Utah Jazz. Nevertheless, Rivers seemed to have found the light at the end of the tunnel.
In the last few seasons, the Milwaukee Bucks often produce an impressive regular season performance, only to get thrown out cheaply in the postseason. However, this regular season, the team hasn’t made any noise yet, starting with a 1-6 record. Especially with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, averaging 31.0 and 28.4 ppg, respectively, the team struggled to generate wins. This ultimately directed the fans’ anger toward the team’s coach.
Tonight, the Milwaukee side faced the Jazz in Fiserv Forum, the home of the Bucks and fans took the opportunity to showcase their dissent in two ways. Firstly, the packed arenas. Fans usually pack the arenas for every game since the rise of Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, tonight, there wasn’t any sign of a rousing crowd instead, some of the seats were seen empty. Secondly, fans received Doc Rivers with a barrage of boos when the announcer introduced him before the tip-off.

Nevertheless, Doc Rivers’ bad start to the game didn’t last long as they finally found a turnaround, claiming a 123-100 blowout win. These loud boos at Rivers had a lot of similarities with Coach Steve Kerr’s last night in Boston.
Not as packed at the Bucks game as I've seen in recent years. Aaaand there were a good amount of boos when Doc Rivers was introduced after the starting lineup.

Even though it wasn’t home fans, the Celtics fans burst into boos when the announcer introduced Kerr. The Dubs coach simply waved at the crowd with a smile and also defeated the Celts at their home. Meanwhile, Rivers did something similar. He managed to put an end to the losing streak!
Will Doc Rivers change the Bucks’ fortune hereafter?
What’s your perspective on:
Can Doc Rivers' bold lineup change finally ignite the Bucks' season, or is it just a fluke?

Not to disrespect the Jazz, but the Bucks definitely needed this game to boost their confidence. Despite having two superstars on the side, the Bucks looked out of rhythm, failing to collect rebounds and throwing away points in turnovers. The Wisconsin team needed a win to turn on their winning habits.

Giannis and Damian Lillard didn’t do anything this season, as they continue to shoulder the team’s offense. The duo only needed the rest to contribute collectively for the win. And tonight, Doc Rivers made one simple change that seemed to have done the trick. Notably, it sounded controversial in the beginning when the reports suggested Rivers made a tweak in the starting lineup by sending in a second-year guard.
Rivers replaced Gary Trent Jr. with the sophomore guard Andre Jackson Jr. When the team roped in Trent Jr. ahead of the season, everyone described the trade to be a steal. The former Raptors guard consistently averaged around 15 ppg in the last few seasons, with an impressive record from the arc. However, this season, he didn’t make any impact, scoring 7.2 ppg, and shooting at 23.1% from the arc. Meanwhile, Jackson Jr. also didn’t make noise on the scoreboard, dropping 7 points with 4 assists. Do you think Rivers will go with the same lineup for the upcoming games?
