In a battle between two heavyweights of the rapping industry, the reignited beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has taken over the world. With both world-class artists dropping one diss track after another, music fans are having a field day dancing to their latest tunes. Just last Friday, responding to Lamar’s dual diss tracks ‘6:16 in LA’ and ‘Euphoria’, Drake released a nearly eight-minute-long masterpiece of his own ‘Family Matters.’ And when that song started playing at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse ahead of the third game between Boston and Cleveland, Jayson Tatum couldn’t help but groove to the rhythm of the track.
Focused on his pregame warmup ahead of tonight’s crucial game, Tatum was vibing to Drake’s new diss track and mouthing the lyrics, while also kicking the ball probably as a part of his warmup. Then, hyped from the tune, he pulled up from deep range and drained the three-point shot.

Despite coming off a twenty-four-point loss on Thursday, that too on their home court, Jayson Tatum looked in a pretty good mood ahead of tonight’s game. Maybe, that’s the approach he needs to have to stay focused and positive throughout the playoffs, dancing and singing, and not taking unnecessary pressure. After all, Tatum has not had the kind of playoffs everyone expected him to.
Finishing sixth in the MVP voting, Tatum is averaging a little less than twenty-two points in these playoffs, which is nearly five points less than his regular season average. However, his rebounding and assist count have increased to 10 and 5.4 respectively. And maybe dancing to Drake’s song before the game will help him let loose and perform better tonight!
Celtics fans declare Jayson Tatum’s moves a “Bad Omen”
Although it is usual for athletes to put their headsets on and enjoy some music before the game to get their juices flowing, Jayson Tatum doing it after losing the previous game sent the Celtics fans into panic mode. They instantly took to social media to express their disbelief with one fan tweeting, “Drake fan huh…disasterclass loading.”

Witnessing Tatum’s demeanor before the game, this fan claimed that was the reason he had not played well in these playoffs. Maybe it was the choice of music or just Tatum grooving to Drake rather than Lamar that enraged this displeased fan. Is there more to this reaction?
I see why he’s been playing trash

An individual even claimed that Tatum dancing before the game might not be a great omen for him and the Celtics. Well, the ‘Drake Curse’ is quite popular in the soccer and MMA world. His prior presence with multiple celebrities who have then turned up for major events has ‘supposedly and unpopularly’ led to their team losing. In fact, this entire speculation-based trend shot up in the NBA after he bet on the Warriors to beat the Cavs in 2016.
This isn’t a great omen just saying

Despite the Celtics leading the playoff series and also having a superior regular season record, this Celtics fan made an unusual request to the Cavs and asked them to beat Jayson Tatum and Co. tonight. It was probably in response to watching Tatum’s casual attitude.
Cleveland please beat us

This person even went one step further and slammed Drake along with Tatum with one statement, claiming that he might also think Drake won the beef against Kendrick. While the beef is still ongoing, it is hard to say who has the upper hand but this fan is of the opinion that it isn’t Drake.
He probably thinks Drake won too 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe the Celtics fans and the rest of the NBA World have been spoiled by watching the Celtics win a lot this season, so far as to whenever they lose it becomes a big deal. Even Tatum resonated with that sentiment after Thursday’s loss, “The world thinks we’re never supposed to lose, we’re supposed to win every game by twenty-five. It’s not gonna be like that all the time.”
Losing is a part of the game and that too in the playoffs, where every team is as elite as they come. And maybe the fans were being a little too harsh on the Celtics superstar for his pregame moves. What do you think?
