The experiment is over, and the 2025 NBA All-Star game, in its newest format, is done and dusted. The players and everyone will now move to the regular season where the sport’s finest compete for the greatest achievement. But what’s catching the headlines from the All-Star? The post-game news is making more news than Shaq’s OG’s winning! The latest bit of news has to do with Celtics‘ shooting guard Jaylen Brown‘s proposition to move the next all-star game to Boston. But why?
Well, after the initial traction, this year’s edition brought more heat than hype. There’s been a decline in quality and effort from the players taking part in the annual event for a while now — something the NBA failed to upkeep in 2025 as well, even after all the efforts. This has decreased viewership numbers for the match — both on and off the court. Luckily for us, Jaylen Brown took it upon himself to bring back the glory days of these games. He said that the games should be moved to Boston. And his justification? Because the Chase Center was pretty much empty from a fan’s perspective on February 16th. But will the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver listen to it?
“Got the craziest fans in the world in Boston, so I’m sure they would enjoy it. It seemed like it was a little empty in here tonight; I don’t think in Boston that would happen. So if we bring the All-Star Game to Boston, I would love to be there, and I would love to participate,” said Jaylen after the Bay Area matchup. It might seem a little biased considering he plays for the Greens, but all of this comes from statistical backing.

The TD Garden, known for its ‘crazy’ fans, boasts one of the highest average attendances in the league. For the 2023-24 season, the Celtics had the 9th-best attendance in the league, with figures up to 19,156 per game and 785,396 throughout the season. The Chase Center meanwhile put the Warriors 17th on the same list, with an average attendance of 18,064, and 740,624 overall, according to ESPN’s attendance numbers.
Jaylen Brown’s awkward locker room interaction with LeBron James surfaces
Lakers forward LeBron James was scheduled to make his 21st straight All-Star appearance for Shaq’s OGs. Sadly, he pulled out last moment due to a persisting ankle and foot discomfort. But can you keep him away? He visited the rest of the OGs in the locker room pre-game. While he had a special appreciation for the likes of Jayson Tatum, Nikola Jokic, and Kyrie Irving, there was palpable tension when he made it to Jaylen Brown’s corner — only giving him a handshake as opposed to a traditional hug. Oops, is something wrong?

There’s been a very public feud between the pair recently. It all started from Jaylen Brown deemed the King’s son, Bronny James, to ‘not be a professional basketball player’. He’s since set the record straight by coming up with a rebuttal for that accusation. “It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the nba it reflects greatness and longevity! Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth,” said Brown in a tweet. But this was just the beginning, as Brown’s public fight with Nike just added fuel to the fire.
Brown has had beef with the American sports giant since stood up for Irving in the alleged anti-semantic documentary controversy in 2022. Since then, he’s dropped bombs on Nike favoring certain athletes despite cutting funding in its resources towards them. He didn’t explicitly mention Bron in the list, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two and two together.

Will a shift to Boston be a blessing in disguise for the falling perception of the All-Stars game? Jaylen Brown certainly thinks so. He’s hopeful that Commissioner Adam Silver will be noting it down. Regardless of the tension between him and James, there’s always mutual respect for being rivals on the court. And neither of them can deny the same, considering their contributions to the Association.
