Ramos, with his eldest son Alejandro accompanying him, also took some time out to personally greet Luka Doncic. Before heading out to the basketball court, the duo exchanged their respective jerseys as part of a heartwarming gesture. The duo of Sergio Ramos and Luka Doncic go back a long way. Not only do both athletes hail from Europe they were also associated with Real Madrid at one point in their professional careers. From shooting hoops in the gym to partying alongside James Harden, Sergio Ramos often keeps himself associated with the world of basketball. Along with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he was one of the very first people to pay tribute to Kobe after the latter passed away in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Before Luka Doncic or Jayson Tatum, Sergio Ramos lifted the NBA Trophy!
Sergio Ramos didn’t just limit himself to spending some quality time with the two Dallas Mavericks stars. The athlete also went behind the scenes to do something that members from both the rosters have been waiting to do for quite some time now. The 38-year-old was pictured holding up and posing alongside the iconic Larry O’Brien trophy. The 29-pound cup glimmered brightly, thanks to his reported 24-karat gold overlay.
As Sergio Ramos and his son stood with the trophy, the athlete asked the media members about its name. He briefly got confused that it was named “Barry”. After being corrected, he turned to the cameras to exclaim, “What’s up Larry?” before dropping a kiss on the tip of the iconic prize. And the Mavs ended up winning the game, keeping their fan’s hopes alive while triggering the beginning of a historic comeback! Therefore, the trio of Doncic, Nowitzki, and Ramos will certainly be going back home with a smile on their faces.
