Reaching the top of the mountain requires more than just talent and exuberance. Zion Williamson learned that lesson the hard way in his initial years in the NBA as his struggles with injuries continued. What did David Griffin say?
After an impressive start last season, the Pelicans faced multiple obstacles, with injuries being one of them. So, the team decided to hire a physical therapist in the offseason to counter that. Several stars liked the idea, and they stayed with the organization to prepare throughout the summer.
Williamson was one of them, as he looked to be in the best possible physical condition ahead of the upcoming campaign. His determination left Griffin impressed as the 50-year-old publicly praised the youngster. He stated, “Zion Williamson has been in our gym more than he has in his entire career in the offseason”.?

David highlighted it as “different,”?before praising the maturity of the 2-time All-Star. He talked about how Zion has started to understand the importance of doing whatever it took to become successful.

Can Zion Williamson win a championship in New Orleans?
Since joining the league back in 2019, he has made the headlines for the wrong reasons most of the time. After missing out on the entirety of the 2021/22 season, the previous season was supposed to be exceptional. It began that way before he again succumbed to injuries and missed the second half of the campaign.
His combination with the team’s stars such as Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum has never come to fruition due to this. In fact, in the past four years, Zion and Ingram have played together in just 93 games for the franchise. So, the fans definitely want to see a change on-court.
