When Kelly Oubre Jr. said he was injured because of a hit-and-run accident, the internet lost its mind! While walking alone last Saturday, Kelly claims a vehicle apparently struck him. It’s a shame because when X (formerly Twitter) went flooding with condolences for the NBA star, authorities were collectively looking for some much-needed evidence. They wanted to corroborate if the accident really happened and who to catch later.

After all this chaos, evidence comes out suggesting Oubre Jr. might have faked his “accident”, just to get out playing for the Sixers. If reports were to be believed, the police didn’t find any surveillance footage that shows the evidence of this particular hit-and-run. The department spokesperson, Sgt. Eric Gripp, when speaking with The Philadelphia Inquirer, said, “The Police Department currently does not have any video or photographic evidence that depicts this collision?. This was it!

This was the final nail in the coffin the situation had become. Many came forward after these shocking revelations by the police on November 15th. While fans had their own take, the 76ers Head Coach, Nick Nurse, had his own input.

Sixers’ management supports Kelly Oubre Jr.?

Oubre claimed to be?a victim of?a hit-and-run collision around 15th and Spruce Street?in Center City on Saturday night. According to the details of the accident report, he was walking westbound on Spruce when a fast silver car smacked him in the upper chest region with their?driver’s?mirror. They transferred Oubre?to Thomas Jefferson University after providing?him with?medical care for a broken rib and injuries to his hip and leg.

However, after the officials took Oubre’s statement, they recovered the surveillance footage of the location he mentioned. And to their surprise, the footage did not show any such incident even taking place. Due to that, the trust factor in the athlete’s statements gets completely voided. But his team head coach, Nick Nurse, showed his trust and support in his player. “I don?t have any reason not to believe him,” said Nurse.

But when he was asked in an interview if he was concerned that Oubre’s statement given to the law proved to be false in the future what would he do? He said, “Listen, like I said before, I believe Kelly at his word.”

Even Joel Embiid spoke about this incident in his interview. He said, “That was tough when I heard about it. I just want to make sure he was good, cause you never know with those type of things. It just shows you that it could happen to any of us.”

What is the future plan of action for Oubre Jr?

According to sources, Oubre, who came to Philly in September, may have had difficulty determining the location of the collision. Furthermore, indications suggest that Oubre apparently was sedated and was not in the appropriate frame of mind when he interacted with the police. These aspects increase the situation’s intricacy, requiring more clarification from those near the victim.
