From the very beginning, Bronny James has been tipped for success in the NBA. However, things haven’t gone according to plan for Bronny and the James family. After a stellar senior year with Sierra Canyon, Bronny’s decision to represent the USC Trojans in his collegiate career was received positively. But his career with USC hasn’t panned out as he would have hoped.
Bronny James struggled to find game time in his freshman year. Of course, the cardiac arrest he suffered in July 2023 was a part of the problem. But in the limited game time that he received, Bronny didn’t win over his critics. He just averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25 games. As a result, James decided to enlist in the 2024 NBA Draft. He also entered the transfer portal to maintain college eligibility. Where Bronny James might end up is anyone’s guess, with several potential destinations in the mix. However, he may have dropped a very big hint on Mother’s Day.
Recently, Bronny James posted a story on his official Instagram account to show love to his mother, Savannah James, on Mother’s Day. However, what caught netizens’ attention was the attire that Bronny wore. In the pic that he posted, Bronny wore an Ohio State Buckeyes jersey. Is this possibly indicating where he sees himself heading in the future?

Back in 2022, Bronny James modeled the official jersey of the Ohio State Buckeyes. This shoot sent fans into a frenzy, as they thought that he would represent the Buckeyes in his collegiate career. However, he chose the University of Southern California. But fate works its magic in strange ways. After a dismal 2023-24 season, Bronny’s decision to enter the college transfer portal has again revived rumors linking Bronny to Ohio State.
According to Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch, “The Buckeyes are likely to look at pursuing him a second time.” Bronny even visited the college for a tour in 2022. Furthermore, he might also get the chance to play on the same teams as Bryce again because Bryce already has a scholarship offer from Ohio State. Even LeBron stated that, “if I had one year of college, I would have ended up here (Ohio State).”

Therefore, playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes might be enticing for Bronny James. However, at the moment, he’s focused on his pre-draft workouts. Having said that, Bronny’s 2024 Draft prospects aren’t looking good. In Bleacher Report’s most recent mock draft, James went undrafted. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, Bronny would be a second-round draft pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. With his draft prospects looking slim, Bronny might, after all, decide to represent the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2024-25 season.
