Being an NBA player comes with a lot of perks. From providing an individual brand value and image associated with your name, it also opens doors for many other ventures. The Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis is no different. Davis landed the largest contract in NBA history when he signed a 3-year max contract extension with the Lakers.
This deal ensures that he stays with the team through 2028. The Phoenix Suns‘ star player Devin Booker also managed to land a similar super-max contract last year. All in all, these players’ NBA contracts alone make for a hefty sum to take home.

Recently, not long after Davis signed the 3-year max extension, Andrew Petcash had broken down the actual take-home salary. This of course got a lot of reach because of Giannis’ repost. But on a serious note, it gives us an idea of what it entails to play in a historic team like the Lakers.
Anthony Davis just signed the NBA’s richest annual extension (3 years $186 million).

But not to worry. This is just the NBA contract. As mentioned above, being an NBA player also comes with its own brand value and off-court earnings. A notable deal was the multiyear extension with Nike before the 2017-18 season.
In the upcoming season, Davis is reportedly making a little over $40 million. Later, in the 2024-25 season, he is earning more than $43 million. And this is all before his extension starts to kick in, carrying him through the 2027-28 season. This can ultimately push his earnings to $500 million when the contract concludes. What’s more surprising is that during the final 3 years, he can easily make approximately $750,000 for each regular season game, representing LA Lakers.
The 30-year-old is all set to be the next face of the franchise when LeBron is ready to retire. He has already proven his mettle many times, with and without Bron, to back him up. So, we can expect a rise in his earnings as well, be it off-court or on-court.

The Suns’ long-time player Devin Booker has an estimated net worth of $50 million in 2023. The year 2019 saw Booker signing a 5-year $158 million contract extension with the Suns. But his 2021 performance that got the Suns to the NBA Finals landed him a super-max extension.
That extension is worth $214 million over the course of four years. So, his current annual salary is $31.6 million. In 2023-24, Booker will earn a base salary of $36 million owing to the super-max extension. His off-court earnings amount to around $8 million as well.

To sum up, it’s kind of obvious that Anthony Davis has a higher net worth than Devin Booker. Either way, all these earnings result from their blood and sweat, and hopefully, they go on to land bigger and better deals.
