LeBron's reveal of AD's call to Bronny—Does this show the Lakers' unbeatable team spirit?

No matter how much the hooping community targets Bronny James for getting into the league due to sources or insider influence, it will always be a special moment for his father, LeBron James. The Lakers legend will create history the day he gets onto the court with the 19-year-old rookie. That’s what enlightens the face of the 4x NBA Champion every time his son appears during an interview or podcast. Sharing the same sentiment, LeBron James revealed about the popularity of his son that compelled his Lakers buddy to ditch him.

Bronny James has been an off-season buzz despite his status as a second-round pick. The 19-year-old has such a following that even Anthony Davis was eager to get to him after draft selection. Recalling the incident on the Nike x The Shop podcast, host Paul Rivera stated, “There was a cool moment that night where um after Bronny got drafted, AD facetimes Bron and Bron’s like what’s up AD and he’s like I called to talk to you….”

The moment was so hilarious that LeBron James could not stop himself from bulging in to add, “I want to hear from my new teammate, AD Facetime be like I don’t want to talk to you, I want to talk to my new teammate. Put him on the phone!” The Lakers legend could not stop chuckling over recalling the moment. Despite facing the reality firsthand, LeBron still could not believe that he’d share the court with his son. Wonder why? Well, King James revealed it himself!

LeBron James confessed his feelings ahead of the training camp with Bronny James

LeBron James is still awestruck by the fact that Bronny James will be playing with him on the same court. We all know who’s the star here, but for a father, it’s still an achievement. King James could not contain his excitement as he expressed on The Shop podcast, “I am so excited for training camp. Having your son work with you, it’s like the greatest thing. I can’t wait for this moment. I really cannot wait to hit the floor. It’s going to be pretty surreal for me.”

The 19-year-old son of the NBA legend showcased some flashes of hard will after a disappointing Summer League performance. In his final two appearances, he averaged 12.5 points and 47.6 field goal shooting percentage. Still, the possibility of him playing in the regular season with his father is scarce. JJ Redick might give him a chance off the bench to share some moments with his father. But the starter position is still far from the reach of the young rookie.

Even ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed earlier in July that Bronny might spend the majority of his time in the G-League next season. Also, after the first-round loss to the Denver Nuggets last season, the Purple and Gold will be seeking redemption. So, a deep playoff run will demand committed starters, not under-developed rookies.
