The hip-hop and basketball worlds are quite closely connected. There are thousands of basketball references in popular hip-hop songs, both from this generation and the past. And needless to say, NBA players are also huge fans of the art form. Portland Trailblazers star Damian Lillard is a man of various talents. Apart from being one of the best players in the league currently, Lillard is also an established rapper!

During a recent podcast appearance, the NBA star faced a tricky situation ahead of himself. He was given a number of hip-hop legends and was asked to choose the 2 worst rappers out of them!

Like basketball, hip-hop has changed by leaps and bounds and there are countless legends who have left their mark. Two of the most successful rappers of the 2000s were Kanye West and Eminem.

With multiple Grammy and other wins to their name and a whopping 313 million album sales between them, the two legends found themselves to be a part of an infamous group. Talking on the Back on Figg podcast, Lillard was asked to name the 2 worst rappers out of a number of legends. The list featured names like Kendrick Lamar, Jay Z, and many others alongside West and Eminem.

Being an ardent fan of music and being an artist himself, Lillard found it really hard to answer that question. However, he mustered the courage and answered, “Kanye West and 50 Cent”. His answer left the other panelists in shock and it looks like they share a different opinion to that of the 6-time NBA All-Star.

Dame Lillard is not just your average neighborhood rapper. He is a well-established name in the industry and even had a beef with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal once. Dame D.O.L.L.A., which is his stage name, released his fifth studio album recently. Fans of the NBA star were surprised to see some of the biggest names in hip-hop featured in the album.
