Less than three weeks into the fast-paced NBA season, a familiar theme is resurfacing in the league. LeBron James has recently vented his frustration regarding the officiating in NBA games. While the memory of James being fouled by Jayson Tatum in a game from last year still lingers, his current discontent arises from the ongoing season; particularly after the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a loss to the Miami Heat on Monday. Reports suggest that the Lakers have lodged a complaint with the NBA regarding the missed calls. It’s rumored that the LA staff presented numerous video clips of fouls that went uncalled, significantly impacting the game’s outcome.
Lakers’ coach Darvin Ham has also sided with the superstar, asserting that James deserved more trips to the free-throw line; given the physicality of the fouls against him on the court. James himself didn’t hold back when addressing the media, expressing his dissatisfaction with the officiating in the game.

The authorities have indeed examined the Lakers and LeBron James‘ complaints. However, the outcome appears to be unsatisfactory for the purple and gold team. In response to the Lakers’ pleas, the league decided to issue a special report, “Last Two-Minute Report.” According to this report, it was determined that the referees were as sharp as cactus through the last 2 minutes of the game. They made no errors during the critical period.
Consequently, this vindicates the referees from any wrongdoing. Shadowed by the narrative, the report acts as a pat on the back for the officials. Furthermore, it seems like referees will be instructed to continue their current approach; despite the criticism from fans and players regarding missed calls.
However, there’s a twist to the story. Just a few minutes after the NBA released the report, LeBron James weighed in with a rather logical perspective. He asserted that the game’s final outcome is also influenced by events occurring in time apart from the last two minutes.
The game isn?t won or lost in the last 2 mins! If you know the game things happen throughout the 1st, 2nd. 3rd and first 10 mins of 4th that has MAJOR impact on outcomes. https://t.co/ReW6r43Wax

James’ argument holds merit. For instance, a player operating with 5 fouls in the last two minutes approaches the game with a different mindset compared to someone with three or even four fouls on their record. This, in turn, can have a significant impact on their performance and decision-making on the court; ultimately altering the outcome of the game.
Looking back at questionable calls against LeBron James and the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a narrow 107-108 defeat against the Miami Heat. LeBron James contributed 30 points in the road game.
In the aftermath of the Lakers’ dissatisfaction with the officiating, various video clips have surfaced on the internet; sparking mixed reactions among fans. Many claim that there were glaring missed calls, including one instance where James drove past Duncan Robinson and encountered Thomas Bryant at the rim, resulting in a blow to his face and a missed dunk.
Additionally, in an earlier fastbreak during the game, James got a push by Robinson in the paint, causing an off-balance James to lose possession of the ball, leading to a failed conversion attempt and a turnover.
There are players who live off weakass touch fouls. Meanwhile LeBron can?t even get this basic call lmaoo

Furthermore, D?Angelo Russell was ejection from the game with less than 8 minutes left in the fourth. Russell vehemently argued with the referees, believing there were erroneous calls. He received a couple of technical fouls.
With the Lakers having foul calls going against them in a regular season game against the Celtics last year, they certainly have a history of such mistakes from the referees. Do you think that LeBron calling them out will change anything?
