Kyrie Irving had to sit out the Dallas Mavericks vs Chicago Bulls game too. Irving couldn’t play during the team’s matchup against the Grizzlies due to a left foot sprain and it looks like he is still facing the same issue. Even so, the Mavs sent the Bulls packing in a 114-105 victory. Though Luka Doncic played for 40 minutes, this game wasn’t his best.
The stars of this game were Grant Williams and Tim Hardaway Jr. for the Mavs, and Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan for the Bulls. Williams and Tim’s 24 points each were what got the Mavs over the edge for their fourth win of the season. Things are looking up for Dallas now. Why don’t we take a look at the how?

Key takeaways from the Dallas Mavericks game
The man of the Mavericks, Luka Doncic, is as gifted as they come. By now, even the most skeptical of analysts have to agree with it. Along with his growth over the years, he has also made the Mavs a better team; a dominant one, and a title contender. So, taking a look at the takeaways from their games so far should give us further proof of why they are the West’s only undefeated team.
- The Mavericks’ acquisition of veteran guard, Kyrie Irving, was a step in the right direction. With him and Luka Doncic leading the hungry Dallas, even if they go on an all-out-attack mode, they can still win.
- Though the team didn’t do that well on the defense during the summer, the Mavericks still have all the makings to become a top team in the West.
- If Doncic and co. are planning to go big in the playoffs, Dallas will need to get better on defense. Hopefully, before the trade window closes for good (February).
So, there you go. The Dallas Mavericks are one of the up-and-coming teams to watch out for. Until then, we are going to have to satiate ourselves with the brilliant games they put up now.

Dallas takes the Bulls by the horn
The credit for this win goes to Grant and Tim. Starting with a lot of confusion on both sides, Dallas finally stabilized itself. Williams got a pair of 3-pointers that put the Mavs in the lead at the halfway point. Each hit by the Bulls was answered with one of their own until a Chicago timeout at the 7-minute mark.
Zach LaVine got on the court on a fiery shooting streak that put the Bulls at a 48-42 lead over Dallas. But Williams and Lively came with a barrage of dunks, getting the Mavs back on track. Not for long though, because DeRozan was ready for them. The fourth quarter looked like the Mavericks were ready to go under, but Lively’s prompt interference brought the hustle back to Dallas.
